How do you see the side's pace overall, compared to last year ?
CC is possibly the most explosive player over 20m in the comp. I reckon our pace could overall be better than what we put on the park GF day though. Otto replaced by Gov, CC replaced by Gooch who's quick and Lever by Doedee who's a bit quicker than him. If Milera gets in somewhere, he'll be quicker than whoever he replaces, he's reported to as being as quick as CC from players.

Smith carried as well. Running 40m is at least 2 bounces though and that's pretty rare. There's also the issue of tank, Milera only now would be starting to get to what's required to be a hard runner. I'm not sure he'd yet be confident in being responsible for a player and running hard off him. But, as I said, I won't be complaining, I'd just prefer him on a wing where more of his kicks will be hitting up the 50m mark and closer.
We have a plethora of wingmen, including Seedsman in his preferred role .....speed & elite kick, and the ability to break lines is why i'm preferring Milera .......who else?

I'd prefer Seed off half back. He has a good reach and is solid in the air, tackles well, hunts the ball on the deck and has a booming leg that can comfortably break lines.

Not sure. I do recall reading that Milera is training with the defensive group, so he's obviously an option. No idea about Seed though.
Yep - has been discussed ... seemed a strange choice to me as I just never saw Milera's role in the back 7 - but was confirmed again with Jake Kelly today saying ...

"Brodie Smith's going to miss the majority of the year with his ACL, so there's another opportunity for someone," Kelly said. "Wayne Milera's been training really well (and) training down back, so he might be the one to step into Brodie Smith's role."

For what it’s worth, Francou when asked about which youngsters were impressing, said he’s been really impressed by Gallucci and even though he’s not really considered a youngster anymore, Knight too.
Is Francou coaching the midfield?

I knew that Milera was training down back, it's WW's recollection that Seed has been ruled out as going back there that I'm unsure of.

Francou's coaching the forwards

IMO this could well mean the club wants Gallucci as Cameron's replacement this year

Whilst certainly not jumping on the Marty 36 bandwagon , Hamish has not pulled any high draft pick winners in last few seasons with results yet and can only hope Doedee and Gallucci take some big forward steps and get a opportunity.
But when had a few injuries they had not done enough to get coach to pick.
Milera has opportunities but yet to show anything but rare good skills and distinct lack of aggression.

Was he not responsible for Lever, or was that the year prior to him being promoted? And let's face it, he hasn't really had any "high" draft picks to work with. What was Milera after academy players, 14? And then you need to take into account where we've finished over the last 3 years, not a lot of opportunity for draftees to play big blocks of games. If our players had been drafted by Carlton and weren't playing, then you'd have a point. As it stands, you don't.

Milera has clearly shown the most out of all recruits, and I think what he has shown has been reasonable, nothing at the the level of Oliver or Burton or the likes but a pass
