I hear Selwood was going to miss AA but dropped his knees at the last second and got hit high by the selectors

Thought I'd sleep on it, you know clear my mind.
Nope still furious Kreuzer got overlooked, literally better in every statistical measure except hit outs, and if they were going to give it to the best tap ruckman sauce Jacobs would have got the guernsey.

And don't get me started on Selwood, Murphy wasn't even named and he was better than Selwood this year.
Loses all credibility when it's stated that he got in on reputation

Well done Doc. Should have been in last year as well but younger players need to do it for more than 1 year for some reason.

Bad luck to Kreuzer, had an enormous year. All year it has been him or Ryder and they went with Ryder, fair enough he has been bloody good as well.

They were never going to put 2 rucks on the bench as no AFL team does it and that is fair enough.

I work with a couple of Bangladeshis.

Never seen two people so happy.
shame our media seemed to think it was more something we lost than they won

Great for Docherty he was totally duded last year. Ryder was the easy choice they obviously think they both had great years so give it to the guy in the team that made finals.

I think by being in the squad and having a lot of discussion about the choice it is some recognition of the awesome season he has had.

Have just been reading about Doc's background before Carlton and even his first year at the Blues. He has faced so many challenges and risen above all of them. I didn't know his dad had passed away and under those difficult circumstances. (Wiki)

My love for this guy just grows and grows. A decent, unassuming character who just oozes determination, passion, grit, humility and professionalism.

I'm so glad he came to us.

They aren't wrong. We continuously select players unable to perform on the sub continent. Our captain hasn't figured out sub continental appropriate tactic either. Yes the deshis were awesome, they won but seriously. Matthew wade??? Guy averages 4 or so in the sub continent.

Australian crickets problem continues to be the selectors and the talent identification. Absolute shit. - I'm heavily involved in Aus cricket.

Bangladesh beat us because they performed better than us. The End.

How in the hell did Selwood get into the team before Kennedy from the swans?
Agree Kennedy should of made it, they said Selwood's impact in games was significant, I can recall a few games when Selwood performed strongly but 80% of the time Dangerfield out performed him.

As far as I'm concerned, the only reason Kruezer did not get an AA spot was because Cripps was injured.

Although Kruez only had 6 less taps than Ryder, I would suggest that the taps he did get were less effective. The thing I noticed about Kruez's tapwork was that he often put it down the throat of opposition centremen. This would have been far less likely to happen with Cripps (and to a lesser extent, Curnow) in the team.

Keep Cripps fit next year and we'll have (at least) 3 AA's.

Seriously, Aph. Lots of non-cricket relevant stuff in this thread atm.
