A ANZ prelim would probs get 75k I would say.
Further to that, GWS CEO Dave Matthews is currently lobbying the state govt to keep ANZ's oval shaped capability. This has got up the nose of the Sydney RL fraternity who want to make the stadium exclusively rectangular.

But if a Giants home prelim at ANZ went close to capacity, Matthews would be vindicated.

The crowds today are a pretty good summation of the contrasting way footy is going in NSW & Qld.

The Swans crowd is outstanding, one of the best of the year by any AFL side.

Meanwhile, just 17k for the Lions/Suns clash, easily the lowest between the two sides at the Gabba and no Qld match since April has reached 20k

Overall though, been a great year for crowds, first real boom year in attendances since the mid-00s.

Pretty close. I think they just said 38,487 or similar.
Correct. A couple of thousand short of what I expected. Maybe the rain a couple of hours before the bounce had a small impact. GA not totally full so maybe maybe not. Reserved seats sold out. Lots of empty seats in EFC members reserve.
