thats finals audience levels. For those who noticed the NRL's rating last night more people in Adelaide watched the AFL than people in Sydney watched the NRL, despite Sydney being nearly 4 times the size of Adelaide
At more people watched in Melbourne and in Perth (on 7 mate at 530pm) without a local team in the game than the league in Sydney and Brisbane with the broncos and st George playing....
Next stat I'm interested in is whether the 27k in Brisbane is more than the total gem audience across melbs Adelaide Perth

There were also 55k sydney viewers that watched the game on foxtel. Think it's obvious to say that the swans are too big of a team to be playing on the secondary channel
They're monster numbers. Should put to bed the myth that you need at least 1 Victorian team on Friday night to rate well. Just put good games on and the numbers look after themselves.
per capita, Adelaide's ratings are as good if not better than every other Australian city, and even for some games which dont involve an Adelaide team. Add to that the outstanding attendances every week and they deserve to be known as the most passionate supporters of Aussie Rules in Australia IMO

203,000 FTA, 56,000 Fox, 51,466 attendance= 310,466. Adelaide's population 1,198,000. That's 25.9% of Adelaide either watching for attending the game.

Awesome crowd, looked great too.....no signs of wagon bang...where art though wagon bang?
Would have got half that only 3-4 years ago.

Got 6K in 2013 against the Eagles. Winning makes a difference but clearly there is growth.
GWS crowds have really picked up since mid-season. 10-11K against Richmond and Collingwood was disappointing.
But since the bye:
15K against Geelong
22K against Sydney
11K against Fremantle
15K against West Coast
Okay not typical Melbourne/Adelaide/Perth crowds sure. But looking at literally any non-Swans sporting team in Sydney those numbers are easily fine. An average of 13.5K for the season is higher than about half of the NRL clubs in Sydney.
Yes it looked good hopefully in time they will average 20,000
Two Sydney NRL teams could only pull 9500 to Allianz today The NRL are having big problems with declining crowds in Sydney I firmly believe that SOO is sucking the life out of the game in Sydney plus 6000 two nights running at ANZ is a very poor look on TV

56k at the rugby test match
The NRL have gone all the way on maximising TV ratings at the expense of crowds. Thursday night games every week (generally not a good idea in Sydney, especially when they have them at ANZ stadium) and two Friday night games, one starting at 6pm (!) which is also an absolute disaster when they have it at ANZ.
Their problem is their TV ratings are down this season too so it's a bit of a disaster all round.
