No excuses for Tiger fans today. Absolutely perfect conditions.
I reckon there'll be a fair portion of neutrals there today as well. I'm heading in with a few mates and so is my brother with a few of his. All Collingwood and Essendon supporters - I reckon the fact it's the only decent game on at the G this weekend will get it over 50K.

Looking forward to hearing the tiger roar

God it's good to hear that we are the big game in town again!
Let's hope we put on a show and come about 4pm that punt road end is absolutely rocking!

Not sure why anyone would have expected much more with both teams struggling coming into the match. Not a good crowd but entirely expected.
The Fans Association tweeted the prices for last nights game and they looked pretty similar to what Richmond fans were complaining about when they played North Melbourne at Etihad. All things considered, it shouldn't have been much of a surprise.

Stunned they havent adjusted these prices
There were actually a few offers for cheaper tickets that I came across.

Firstly, an email from the AFL for $30 level 1 seats in the pocket, and then late Thursday night/Friday morning, a St Kilda email offering $15 tickets also in the pocket on level 1.

Not sure about what prices were like excluding these promotions though.

Very good crowd, at a guess 55K
People have to stop saying swans bring upwards of 15K
They don't even have 10K in membership in Melbourne...
I'd say 5-7K they have here!

Ok If all the stars aligned Like a top 4 clash might bring bout 10K in members/non members.

I think if the Swans led by 4 goals at half time your view would be different. They bring 10,000 along to MCG games. Plenty if neutrals as well given good rollup in AFL / MCC members as only game all weekend. Looks around 55K and when you look back in time at crowds involving a big Victorian club high up the ladder against a well supported interstate club, this crowd is a great headline crowd but in line with expectations given great conditions / time slot and lack of other games this weekend for the grounds vast memberships. It had to draw between 50-55K today or you'd be asking questions.

After last nights poor crowd it's great to see this crowd bring things back on track for the weekend. Go Tiges!!

For tigers games they have never brought big numbers that's what I mean, maybe v Hawks they bring 10K but no way today!
No my view wouldn't change even if they were 4 goals up as 5 or 7K can sound like 10K as their supporters here would be there hard-core supporters their members!!!

The weather has helped awesome day!
There is yellow & black everywhere and for nuetrals sure I guess they have rolled up to but I wouldn't say vastly!

They actually don't deserve anyone of those 50000 that turned out today.
We are way to faithful to a culture of no back bone.
If only the club had half the back bone of their ripper supporter base
Bit harsh on the Tiges, just fell short. Swans showed why they're a 'top 4' side on their day. At 7-4 they're going very well.

Crowd splits are impossible to tell.
Not for Richmond games. For those you just assume 95% of the crowd are Tiger fans, just ask them.

I'd say 5-7K they have here!
Case in point. I'd be willing to bet that discussion of other Swans matches in Melbourne would include numerous references to the Swans being 'just like a Melbourne team' in their drawing power. Now they play Richmond and it's 'they've got no one here'.

58,721 they announced.
The splits don't matter, this is a great crowd no matter what the respective Tigers/Swans/neutrals breakdown is, end of story.

I've heard louder eagles and Freo crowds than the swans today

Great MCG crowd today but the loss (and style of the loss) will dampen next week's Blues crowd.

Speaking of crowds reduced by previous week's bad loss, seems a moderate turnout for Port/Lions. Definitely under 40k, possibly closer to 35k.

Next weeks Tigers Blues crowd will ultimately be determined by tonight's game. If Carlton win 60-70K, if Carlton lose 50K+.

Absolutely it was a great crowd but let me reply to ur inaccuracies to what i posted....
Im telling u about tiges v swans on previous times maybe as we haven't been up there when they were up there (top 8) but they sounded louder when the game was there to be won in the last qtr sounded more like 7-10K and thats my thoughts u dont have to agree i was there.
And ive never thought they have Melbourne like crowds, they are not bigger than north or dogs etc but they have good solid support.

No one has said they didnt have anyone there today, thats you saying that my friend but i do question the talk of 15K so please dont misquote what i said cause i was very concise and clear...
