Every team brings more to Hawks games lols :drunk:
haha when u guys played them the over estimating of swans at ur games were laughable.
Reason i said 10K V hawks is both in top 8 bring more out of the wood works...
Like cats v hawks more go as fierce rivals...
They have good support upwards of 10K but geez this 15k supposed support or melb equivalent crowds is ludicrous when they dont even have 10K in membership here.

Absolutely it was a great crowd but let me reply to ur inaccuracies to what i posted....
Im telling u about tiges v swans on previous times maybe as we haven't been up there when they were up there (top 8) but they sounded louder when the game was there to be won in the last qtr sounded more like 7-10K and thats my thoughts u dont have to agree i was there.
And ive never thought they have Melbourne like crowds, they are not bigger than north or dogs etc but they have good solid support.

No one has said they didnt have anyone there today, thats you saying that my friend but i do question the talk of 15K so please dont misquote what i said cause i was very concise and clear...
I was thinking of comments like the below one that I received when I posted figures showing the amount of 40k and 50k crowds against interstate teams.

The figures above include Melbourne teams against Sydney which is a bit misleading (and to a lesser extent Brisbane). Swans have a supporter base in Melbourne comparable to North & Bulldogs. They certainly weren't the least supported club when they relocated to Sydney in 1982.
I've seen a few similar comments about Sydney games from other Richmond supporters in the past, so it was ironic but predictable that when Richmond finally got their own terrific crowd against them the first comment I saw from a Richmond supporter was to downplay the number of Swans fans that had shown up.

Importantly, I'm not saying you yourself had previously stated a different opinion to what you said today.

Agreed but the whole crowd split thing is just stupid really. No one really knows and it ultimately doesn't matter

You know it probably is but its not a big deal i dont know why some get hell bent over it, its the 2017 attendance thread so current crowds, crowd splits, crowd history are all a point of topic, its a forum everyone wants to engage in some way and you wont please everyone...
I've read so much crap on the main board even today a few have popped up especially about my club but as much as it pivves me off i cant tell people what they can and cant write i just ignore it or reply if need be...

Can you stop saying "richmond supporters" are doing this split shit? It's four blokes, and they are far from being Representitive of every rfc bigfooty poster

You think it would have been less than 26k?
No but from a crowd perspective I think the way it worked out was the best outcome.

I reckon if Richmond - Sydney was played last night you could probably knock 5-6k off the crowd, whereas if North - St Kilda was played today it might have gotten an extra 1-2k.

So the best result is a half empty stadium on a Friday night over a much lesser watched sat arvo?

I hate Tigs playing fri nights (bad time for me to go attend), so I'm not coming at it from that slant btw.

Plenty of Swans there today - absolutely stand by my previous comment and something I've pointed out many times that Swans have the equivalent supporter base of a small Vic team. I don't even count this as 50K against a true interstate side.

Don't think it would have gotten 58,000 if played last night.
1.45pm isn't the ideal time slot as metro footy on around Melbourne plus parents bringing a lot of their kids to their sporting games, basketball, netball, footy etc

Friday night more times than not (weather permitting of course) brings in higher crowds no sports events and many go straight in after work...

Obviously for TV swapping the two would have been better. That is also with the benefit of hindsight. At the start of the season it was understandable why North vs St Kilda was chosen over Richmond vs Sydney.

I was focusing on crowds though, and from that point of view it was probably best the fixture was the way it was.

Not sure I agree in this instance. The weather was a massive boon for the crowd today I reckon.

Then I admire your consistency. :)

From my point of view an interstate team is an interstate team. Although as you say, you have a better chance to achieve it against the Swans than the others, 58k is definitely a great crowd. You can be proud of the turnout even if the game didn't go the way you wanted.
