Day 1 of Pre Season is before the draft from memory. If Alex Pearce is there day 1 and running laps, then it's a great sign. If hes in good nick, it could be a sign that hes ready to go, so no need for Naughton. If Pearce gets most of the pre season in, bookmark him for Round One.
I think your right as long as he gets thru pre season unscathed and plays the pre season games he should line up round 1, there would be no reason to hold him back.

Rayner, LDU, Fogarty, Stephenson or GTFO (not a player, an acronym).

I haven't been able to watch a clip of Cerra or Brayshaw without falling asleep. What am I missing here? They are so dishwater vanilla BORING, no X Factor and most importantly, look the least ready to play in 2018. The highlight videos I've seen are no more impressive than Darcy Tucker or Harley Balic from previous years...

Ross the Boss said that Weller and Blakely weren't quite ready to play full time in the midfield this season as it's 'pretty tough in there' - Cerra and Brayshaw look at least 3-4 years behind Blakely in strength.

I can see Dow being considered top 5, but feel like people are getting a bit carried away with having a Paddy D playing in their midfield.

You hope the recruiters have learnt big from the last 10 drafts. No mummys boys, no vanilla, no injury.
If Fogarty has a Red Zone meniscus tear, a small tear in the cartilage, that only requires rest, i would take
him in a heart beat.
Is so versatile can play all over the ground, footy smarts, and in one of his highlight videos he is jumping
straight onto his opponents head. Something lacking in our forwards..
But if it is more serious?

Get him into a Perth school if he is at all homesick when in Vic.
Either Clontarf or one of the private schools with an emphasis on pastoral care
Nah I agree with Taylor throw the family the money , a lot of sport club do that especially in soccer when the kids is only 14 eg neymar.

There is a new Fox article on Darcy Fogarty, if i knew how to attach i would:( can someone else load it?
But while Fogarty himself may concede that he has struggled in 2017, he still has loyal supporters — namely, the AFL’s national talent manager Mick Ablett.

In his eyes, Fogarty remains the best prospect in this year’s draft pool.

“I’m sticking with Darcy Fogarty,” Ablett said.

“He’s an absolute beast. If you want to talk about someone who competes, he’ll probably get suspended a couple of times throughout his career because he does play on the edge.

“But he’s a huge boy at 192cm. He’s power packed and he’s the most elite kick in this year’s draft.”

That bit in bold is probably the type of skill that our recruiting team will look at.

He certainly can be.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...s/news-story/402e831189fdeb80c8ede665eadfc4f5

Eligible as a father-son selection for the Tigers — where Maurice played 118 games, won two best and fairest awards and a Norm Smith Medal — Rioli Jr displayed all the traits of his famous relatives, including his legendary father and current day AFL stars Cyril and Daniel Rioli.

But Richmond could have a fight on their hands to secure the youngster when he becomes eligible for the draft in 2020.

Rioli Jr also available to Fremantle under the father-son rule after his father played 168 games for South Fremantle.

You would think Richmond would be the front runners cos of Daniel but we will be in his ear for sure
Not sure if that article is correct. I think our period to recruit father/son players from the WAFL has ended.

https://web.archive.org/web/20120609151204/http://www.afl.com.au/tabid/208/default.aspx?newsid=66411

"West Australian and South Australian teams have modified rules in place, valid until the club has been in the AFL for 20 years, with eligibility to be determined by a certain number of games played for specific sides in state league:

Until October 31, 2015, Fremantle may include any player whose father made 150 WAFL appearances for East Fremantle, South Fremantle, Perth or Swan Districts."

Sorry, he's not a KPD. Not interested.

Yep he could make it as a mid so lets sell the farm and throw in our souls as a sweetener for him.
Exactly! What would that Mick Ablett guy know? He probably hasn't even watched him play live and just basing it on YouTube videos. If he was National Talent Watcher I might respect his assessment a bit more.

What makes you the expert of what Freo,s list needs are. We all have an opinion and are entitled to it. Its a forum for just that. Also your attempts to hide ridiculing posters with what you perceive as a version of sarcastic humour is also **cking boring.;)
