I think it is where pick 42 comes into play in a big way. If they are confident of a good mid at 42 they may stick with kpf Fogarty at 5. Pretty sure he was in the initial mix for pick 5.
I'd still go KPF at #42 (and #60 as well maybe) regardless of who we pick with #2 and #5.

We have the contested tall timber forwards with Taberner, Apeness, Strnadica and Darcy. All of whom don't have great agility but are tall enough to contest in the air. Then we have the KPFs that are more like medium forwards in McCarthy and Kersten. We have nothing much in between though. Fogarty sits in the middle albeit at the shorter end of the scale - but his presence, strength and evasiveness makes up for it, and he has kicked big bags of goals during his junior career. And guys like Krueger and Miller are then a step up in height with elite speed and agility, but haven't kicked bags of goals so they are speculative. The beauty of all three is they've all played midfield. Add UDL and that's some serious versatility we add to our team for the long term.

And some good Freo names there... a Luke, a Darcy, a Nathan and a Ben.

I heard a very well respected journalist by the name of Kim Hagdorn on the radio yesterday say that you guys are 100% committed to taking Andrew Bradshaw at number 1 and then his younger brother with your first rookie pick.

Apparently another brother lives and studies up there so the Brayshaw family are happy with the decision.
We have one Cat A rookie spot and one Cat B rookie spot and have already committed to redrafting Claye Beams for the Cat A rookie spot and Cian Hanley for the rookie B spot. This was posted by the Lions on the Lions website.

So if we are taking Hamish Brayshaw, we are drafting him with our 5th or 6th National draft pick.

The eldest Brayshaw brother is in the army and currently stationed in Brisbane.

He is such a classy and poised player. Surely not Brisbane and then us would go past him? So Peppy and Taylor want Ragnar Hairy Breeches with pick 2
I think we can take a risk with elite talent that could pay off huge given we have two top five picks.

I'm not happy with his fitness but his performance with that fitness level is enough for him to be the best option in the draft, so although he will need improvement there to contribute at AFL level the possibility of him at peak fitness in a couple of years is game changing.

There were a couple of developments I thought that were positive from the Combine 2kn trial that Cal Twomey reported on. What we do not know was the information/data usually associated with the time.

If heart rate was not over the top for example when he finished (a good sign). Cal said that his results should not affect his position in the draft as most clubs who interviewed him believe he is capable of improving his endurance. That suggests to me they have other data to assess from the 2 K run.

Haselby makes me larf, he is pining for a Pav replacement like many of us probably. Trouble is there will never be another Pav, just like there will never be another Carey

Pav was an AA in multiple positions but Hase wants us to pick Brander as a replacement. Can you see Brander running through the midfield

Now let me introduce you to Mr Fogarty, Mr Utility, Mr 192cm 92kgs anywhere man.

He is the man Hase desperately wants

If Brisbane pick Brayshaw, it could go like this:

Bris: Brayshaw
Frem: Rayner
Car: Dow
NM: LDU
Frem:

Would we draft Cerra making it two Vic Metro lads?

Forgetting the homesickness issue, it would be a great combo to pick up.

Think I would prefer that combo to LDU/Brayshaw (which could be on the cards if Bris select Rayner).

Just from the football side of things it would be a great combo to pick up.

If we’re going a pure mid and mid/forward combo I’d prefer LDU and Fog if Brayshaw goes 1.

Bit of trivia...or not so trivial. Carlton's young list currently have 13 guys over 194cm.
Geelong 11, Essendon 9, Giants 14, Richmond 8, W Bulldogs 12, Hawthorn 7, Sydney 7, Melbourne 10, Port A 9, Adelaide 11, Brisbane11, Gold Coast 7, St Kilda12, West coast 12, Collingwood 6, North Melbourne 9
We only have 7.

Would seem we do not need to panick re our selections. Get three or four maybe.

Richmond 8...
Quality over quantity every day of the week.
I think we'll probably take one tall in the draft and another as a rookie

Could still get Dow/ LDU and Rayner if Stephenson goes to NM. I would be stoked

Sorry, you are correct. I now remember Hagdorn saying that Will Brayshaw was in the army and based in Brisbane, whilst Hamish is studying a science degree at university, majoring in astrophysics.

The Brayshaws have a strong connection to WA in both cricket and football and apparently we are the preferred team for both players to go to if Brisbane don’t go for either brother.

Now I know why you are so over sensitive on the draft rumours board about Fogarty not wanting to be drafted by Fremantle. You have a man crush on him so good luck to you in this year's draft
