UDL seems a pretty solid choice on most drafts at no 2... but I still reckon Stephenson will be something truly special... the guy dominates without an obvious size or strength advantage, and despite his considerable speed, he doen't sem to use it much as a weapon in the highlights I've seen...and his kicking needs work.

But what he does do, is suddenly appear where the ball is about to be, and then move it on to advantage, about thirty five times a game. He doesn't seem to monster his opponent up forward , but he'll still kick himself a bag.

The guy was arguably BOG during the All Stars game...he has 'superfreak' written all over him for my money.

Very interesting, I personally saw him as the biggest flight risk out of the top-end of this draft.
Its hard to predict which players will get homesick. Weller was supposedly committed & signed a new deal only to renege on it.
Pavlich was supposed to be a flight risk due to his strong family ties in Adelaide but he stayed for his whole career & the rest is history.
Get the best available talent & hope the club culture & system will keep them happy.
Pick 2 should be 1 of Rayner, Uniacke Davies or Dow. Cerra is a huge talent & is potentially the best of the lot but he has had injury issues which may put a few clubs off but he is a top 4 pick for sure.
You have been linked with Sam Hayes at pick 5, he is a 6'8 ruckman with huge potential & with both Clarke & Griffin gone it would make sense to bolster this area.

Fun Fact: Stephenson is a Lions supporter. Has always dreamed of playing for them. As we've learned today, dreams can come true! Reckon the Lions might overlook Rayner and LDU for one of their own? No 'go home' factor....

Didn't Schache's dad play for the Lions and Josh himself said he was happy to go up there? To be fair he probably thought he was but moving across the country is not something you can really predict your reaction to until you live it.

Purely as an aside, I just watched Ablett's 'get excited' reel for his return to Geelong - they had some of his highlights from early in his career, not just the Sun's stuff.

Fcuk me that guy can play - seriously... even after two Brownlows, you forget just how freakishly good Gazza can be.

If you're a true fan of the game, then do yourself a favor and have a look at it the video... three minutes of absolutely beautiful football, from one of the very best the game has ever seen.

Good to see you heading home for the close Gazza ;):thumbsu:

Raynor or LDU, just wow.

Not so into Stephenson, burns the ball IMO. Reckon Brayshaw or Higgins at 5. Maybe Fogarty.
I know Angus Brayshaw at the Dees grew up a Freo fan, which I found weird. I think he's related to James Brayshaw but it's not like he's a Dockers supporter despite being a West Australian. Maybe the other Brayshaw is a Dockers supporter too?

Are people judging LDU without following the old herd mentality? I just don't get it.

His footage from the WA game is the worst advertisement for a top pick that I can remember. Other footage is slightly better, but i can't fathom how he is rated so highly.

Rare talent, that I noticed the future stars panel likened to Peter Matera. Super quick, tall, goal kicking wingman/forwards are gold. I would take him everyday of the week, Needs to improve his field kicking but his meters gained are excellent. Take an inside mid with 5.

Let's also not kid ourselves that kids want to come here.
Best training facility in the comp, brand new stadium to christen, train under a legend in Ross and with a legend in Fyfe. Be silly to pass that up for a bit more social life in Melbs.
