Fine line between blackmail and leverage, you could say the players are using a similar tactic to leave. Trade me or I walk next year , go to the pre- season draft , I miss my mummy etc etc

Weller did us a huge favour with the way he handled things. Silly interview, but otherwise I am fine with how he handled it.

The bit that undid GC was Weller telling the media that GC has assured him a trade. It weakened their hand significantly when it came out that they couldnt walk away from this

Plan A: get 2 best midfielders and don't care where they are from (and be prepared to trade them later back to their home state for a no 1 /2/3 draft pick when a decent WA player is top 3 in the country say 2018 /2019)

Plan B: get 2 best WA = Naughton and Oscar Allen.

I vote B

I am glad no one here actually has a say in what is going happen on draft day

Do people forget Allen was voted the best player in the interstate comp? And we have an issue with sh1t forwards?

Do we want Allen to be at West Coast?

Yes I do , they can have Liam Ryan , Banfield , zac Langdon , Tim Kelly , scholite too. The more people talk about go home factor the more Freo should pick Vic metro kids.

Piss take surely unless you'd be willing to pay $195,000 for a brand new Holden Astra?

If we wanted WA kids who aren't going to make the top 10 in the draft why did we hold out for pick 2 and give away round 3 pick 2018? We'd be a laughing stock and it would take us back to days of early 2000s trading.

Not saying those players you mentioned are spuds but if we wanted them we could have easily traded for picks in their range plus keeping this years second, next year's second and third and probably getting an extra second round pick or two this year which we could have used on Wilson and downgraded for Matera.

Plan C can be best midfielder in comp (what's left)pick 2, actual need pick 5 = Allen. Just trying to offer a different viewpoint to the sheep point of view

"My view is equally valid and should be heard!"
"Also you are all conformist idiots!"

Well I'm convinced.

When you in Israel in 1946 and you need to buy a tractor and a bobcat to do make some decent farmland you need to sometimes pay a higher price to fix the problem

First of all I would like to know how you know that these are the only two outcomes?

What about plan C: Recruit two best talents and retain them until retirement?

Do people forget Allen was voted the best player in the interstate comp? And we have an issue with sh1t forwards?

Yes I am sure we do and I am also sure most of us are aware that it is not a guaranteed indicator of AFL ability. Some good players have won it including Bennell, Conoglio and Petracca. Some terrible players have also won it including Andrew Hooper, Jesse Smith and Cale Morton.

Well I think now you are here to enlighten us we can all bask in your greater knowledge.

How is another 191cm forward "a need" anyway?

1. There are multiple 'Plans' but to simplify it for the viewing public ultimately it is Pick A: no.2. Pick with head no. 5. Pick with head, Pick B: 2.heart 5.heart, Pick C 2. head 5. heart

2. I assume they have to actually be star struck to select someone as the best colt player in the nation. E.g they dont vote for someone for a laugh. Note WA only lost one match so I assume our WA players have something to offer.

3. My brother is very close with the WA state team / + freo for what its worth

Only if Brayshaw is pick 1 I hope
