Unfortunately Brayshaws combine times don't translate in to how he plays imo,his kicking skills are superior but he doesn't break lines like Stephenson..Watch both of these videos and tell me who you think we need more .

Purely on the videos... Brayshaw comfortably.

I wouldn't have any issues about this prior to the exhibition game on grand final morning.

He blitzed the 1st quarter, but when that Ed Richards kid moved on to him he had little influence.

Really?

He could have been sick, injured heck even if he wasn't...it's one game of footy.

Still not Sold on Rayner, seen a few too many lazy efforts at the jets to suggest he'll 100% be that game breaking midfielder to me. He is just as much of a risk as Stephenson if you ask me.

Guns are guns though. Who would u rather, Sam Mitchell or issac smith? Pendlebury or wells? Selwood or Motlop?

Speed and xfactor are great if u have the cake to get the most out of them
Mitchell, Pendlebury and Selwood, none of whom were ever considered boring safe selections - Mitchell was an overage, Pendlebury a basketballer with potential, Selwood had injury issues.

Who are these boring, safe players we have picked early? Simpkin? Josh Williams? Mckay?Clarke? Durdin?Lmac?Atley? Harper?

If anything we need a midfielder who we can depend on to get it 25 times a game and use it well.

None of those was picked in the top ten so obviously they're not who I'm talking about (except Lmac who was a father-son anyway). Cunners and Ziebell would be the example, as much as I love them, they're very vanilla.

Cerra getting talked up by Bewick as potential number 1 before injuries. Given our history of picking up players that he’s talked up, wouldn’t be surprised if we take Cerra at 4 if still available.
Could we also give him Mullett’s number 17?

Similar story to Simpkin."wouldve been a top 5 confidentally, if not top 3" but injured in draft year.

Ziebell wasn't vanilla, was an impact mid who could go forward (funny that). Just hasn't translated that into senior level consistency but then that's most of the squad's issue.

Rot. Neither of the players are vanilla. Cunnington is one of the best contested ball winners in the comp.

And they were drafted in 2008 and 2009.

We need more players that we can bank on. If that's vanilla then that's what we need.

Dow Brayshaw Cerra

We just need to land one of those with #4.

Go higher risk on #23 if need be. There’ll be a slider in there somewhere

We'd be making a monumental error picking Jaidyn Stephenson. You begin a rebuild with the closest thing to a rolled gold certainty, not a flashy winger type who is erratic and who's kicking is a weakness.
Rayners kicking is one of his weaknesses too...

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love Rayner slid to us, but at this stage he looks more a medium forward then mid, especially considering his tank.

LDU is probably the only player without warts

Yeah he is a beautiful kick, Pendlebury like. My only question mark on him is, can he find space in traffic like Pendlebury?

That’s the problem with the champs & TAC cup, the rules give these kids time they won’t have in the AFL.
I think that Cerra is about as close to a "sure thing" that we could find in this years pool.
