This season is out of control, and after losing 3 different 5 leg multis by one leg in the past month (* West Coast) I'm sticking to 2 leg multis until results settle down.

Bookmakers best friend
True to an extent.

You can still get good value with multibets if all legs you take are +EV. I generally do this with Sportsbet, who will only let me on for $4 on an event, but if I multi three legs together, they for some reason let me on for $30, or there abouts. I think they do this because they know multis are their best friend, but they aren't their best friend when each leg you take are +EV odds and you only have to cash out after the first leg, which by that time the odds for each of the other two legs you have taken have been adjusted to reflect pinnacle's odds, so not only are you cashing out your first leg win, you're also making a profit from the other two legs too.

If i was going to bet on geelong it would be a last quarter bet. Geelong been strong in last quarters and essendon putrid

Geelong have lost their last two 4th quarters by 4 and 5 goals respectively

They have won 70% of last quarters and outscore their opponents by 200% on average so far this year

And Carlton have won more flags than anyone else in the last 120 years - doesn't mean they will win it this year.

If you are looking for a sure thing then punting might not be for you.

The difference between my example and yours is my data has much more relevance to what is being discussed.
