Wow. This is a really important point. And it prompted me to check the timings of the bidding and trading period from last season and we're actually at that stage now (in bold below).

Here's the off season timeline from last season...

Timeline (AEDT)
When thread is opened: Own player bidding starts
6pm Saturday October 22: Opposition player bidding starts, all bids inactive, no limits on which and how many uncontracted players you can bid on
6pm Thursday October 27: Trading starts, all leading inactive opposition bids become active
6pm Friday November 25: Trading, opposition bidding closes
8pm Tuesday November 29: Own player bidding closes (i.e. you have to have met the requirements below)
9am Wednesday November 30: Draft starts (picks can be passed for PSD)
8pm Friday December 23: GST determinations due
Midday Sunday January 1: Rookie draft starts (picks can be passed for PSRD)
6pm Sunday March 5*: Pre-Season draft (can promote a rookie but will not get a replacement rookie)
Followed by: Pre-season rookie draft

I'll start a new thread asking for all to confirm their desire to play on tonight and send a PM to Russian in case he gets email notifications from Big Footy PMs. It might get him online. But you're right ShaunDuggan, it is a bit of a worry.

Does anyone think they have any idea on how Russian calculates yearly player salary increases for 1-5 year contracts in case we need to get things ready to go? I guess we can just look at the last 2 or 3 off seasons and see if there might be a simple formula if no-one actually knows.

I'd already spoken to fightingfury_88 recently and we were both planning on offering assistance to Russian to help reduce his workload if he wanted it. Is anyone else keen on helping out in any way if we need to set up for the off-season (or more) by ourselves?
I'll take a look at it but I might not be able to look at it too much in the next couple of days as I've got a fair bit going on over those days.
