Looks like the Bears didn't have a coach
Yup, Presti is God was there last coach but he didn't check in at all for the season, so no coach for them currently.

Does anyone think they have any idea on how Russian calculates yearly player salary increases for 1-5 year contracts in case we need to get things ready to go? I guess we can just look at the last 2 or 3 off seasons and see if there might be a simple formula if no-one actually knows.

There is a formula for the salaries and it's based on a three year average if I recall. I used it to calculate what I thought the salaries would be last year but it differed slightly to the salaries Russian put up.

Found part of the salary calculation. It is in the rules thread. There are other salary rules as well (eg for recently drafted players) but this is the main formula.

Trading uncontracted players
When trading an uncontracted player, he must be given a reasonable new contract. There are two guidelines for this:
  1. The contract must exceed the best bid at the time of trading
  2. The salary must be greater than the number produced by the following formula, where x is the weighted (for years where the player played more than three games) average of the player's average scores in the previous three years: ((x-40)^2)*$140 + the minimum salary.

Trading contracted players
Contracted players may be traded on exactly the same contract they are on.
Contracts may be extended to up to 5 years under the following conditions:
  1. To extend to 2 years, the salary must be the greater of the current salary, and the average of the current salary and ((x-40)^2)*(0.0015% of the salary cap) + the minimum salary, where x is the weighted (for years where the player played more than three games) average of the player's average scores in the previous three years.
  2. To extend to 3 years, the salary must be the greater of the current salary (s), and the pro-rata total of the current salary for the period of the current contract and ((x-30)^2)*(0.0015% of the salary cap) + the minimum salary for the additional period
  3. To extend to 4 years, the salary must be the greater of the current salary (s), and the pro-rata total of the current salary for the period of the current contract and ((x-20)^2)*(0.0015% of the salary cap) + the minimum salary for the additional period
  4. To extend to 5 years, the salary must be the greater of the current salary (s), and the pro-rata total of the current salary for the period of the current contract and ((x-10)^2)*(0.0015% of the salary cap) + the minimum salary for the additional period
  5. For players who have completed their first year, trade prices will be no less than the price to extend under the 'Changing Contracts of First Year Players' rule

You 2 blokes would be great assistance.

I'm sure between the lot of us we can bang our heads together and get it rolling. Is there anyone that hes in regular contact with on any other forums that we could contact?

First step would be the sign up thread etc like ya said

I offered last year but he said that it was easier for him to control it all.

If he's not keen on help behind the scenes we can still help make things easier for him at the very least.

Eg. we can keep a running update whenever a new bid is submitted to keep accurate and up to date details on active players and trades etc.
That would give Russian a quick reference for the official updates and coaches a quick reference to know the status of players

Yeah. Try to get a post early in the thread when it’s opened and keep it updated. Or better yet, have your own thread to update as bids/deals are made.

Yep. Something like that :thumbsu:
If it's a separate thread then anyone could update and anyone could double check the details. It's not that uncommon for the wrong salary to be entered for the duration offered in a bid or trade so we'd also need to point out and correct these errors
