Tomic is looking more and more likely for a slump if he isn't in one already. Thompson had an awful loss to Balashvilli 6-3, 6-0 too.

Thompson shit the bed again.

Tomic has a really tough match against Darcis coming up, can't see him winning that tbh.

We are very good at developing young players that only play well in front of their home crowd.

If you mix 25% Tomic/Thompson etc with 75% Stosur maybe we'll have a player that can play anywhere......

unfortunately something is going wrong at development level we are raising a generation of mentally weak and inept players, something needs to be done at the junior level to fix these things or we will just have another lot of under performing players going around

Wtf was that Bernie? Thoughts Bumpswithagrin ?

I haven't really been following the tennis at the moment so I don't know what is going on with Bernie. I see he lost to Darcis, other than that I have no idea. He needs a coach other than his dad IMO though and I wouldn't assume that just because Rafter is out of the way that everything will now be smooth sailing between him and TA either.

Not too worried about Thompson, he was punching a bit above his weight in Australia this summer and it's not surprising he's fallen in a bit of a heap. I'm sure he'll come good and get to some level of consistency in the future. I don't think he is mentally weak. He copped a barrage of abuse on Twitter about his first round loss last week which he reacted badly to so maybe that is affecting him a bit.

Happy to see Stosur winning some matches :thumbsu:

I didn't see it but obviously people who bet money on him weren't happy when he lost and they took it out on him on Twitter which is pathetic but par for the course these days. He posted this so was clearly upset by it.

i predict tomic to drop outside the top 50 in the world this year, doesnt have the head to keep going and is on the decline i think
The problem is his old man just accepts mediocrity, happy to just cruise around the world accepting paychecks and not getting his son to put in the hard yards week in and week out, its ingrained in bernie's head now. The only way he is going to fulfill his talents is a new vision and new ideas.

Awful week in the Kyoto Challenger in Japan. Five first round loses including Whittington (5th seed), Saville, Polmans, Mott and Matosevic. Barton withdrew on the day, not sure why. Bolt went out in the final round of qualifying.

I have no stats to back this up but my observation is our guys struggle post the Australian summer and pick up again after the French.

Jasika, De Minaur, Patrick-Smith and Groth are all injured. Peers has been travelling the golf circut with his wife but back for Indian Wells I think.

Kyrgios back on court tonight, he teamed with Reid for a first round doubles win.
