Cabrera and Arina Rodionova have both lost in 3 @ Q2 for Tokyo.

Rodionova had a tough time. Twice served for a straight sets win only for it go to a TB and lose it after having an early mini-break and then lost the 3rd, 6-1.

Tomljanovic is 1 match away from qualifying for Quebec City.

Tomljanovic lost her final qualifier 6-2 6-1.

Aiava used a WC for Quebec City (although would've gotten in without one ). She lost her R1 to Broady in 3 sets. She saved 14/16 break pts. Broady only needed to save 2/3

Stosur is back (in Tokyo) and lost her match to Sorribes Tormo 3-6 7-5 1-6. Almost a 2 1/2 hr match. Needs more match fitness it seems.

On a positive note, Casey and Ash are headed to Singapore

Priscilla Hon qualified for Seoul.

Lizette Cabrera qualified for Guangzhou. Stosur and Arina Rodionova are main draw starters.

Edit, barty generating break points in the opening 2 games and gets the break, shes switched on at the moment. First time watching her for a few weeks.

Edit 6-0 2nd set and 1st game breaks serve in 3rd set. Think shes got this

Ash wins 6-4 in the 3rd set, fantastic win. She had 2 aces and an unreturnable serve in that final game.

I think this will move her into the top 32, depending on results of opponents just above her.

barty on court, impressive first game getting some nice angles on the balls shes hitting. Really hitting through the court and pushing pliskova around

Both players so far holding serve easy, barely a handful of points dropped for both players. Looking like a good match
