I don't have a real problem with the attitude as long as she gives her best. Having said that she didn't need to go public. These comments will cost her.

I wonder if our wonderful media will start turning on her for this "honesty". They need a female villain. I wouldn't be surprised. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Not going to defend some of the treatment Tomic gets but the difference is that Aiava has yet to become the villain with on-court lack of effort and off-court antics. In isolation these comments are harmless and show real honesty, it's when those comments start to show in their demeanour that they'll cop the brunt of the media/public.

I feel sorry for both of them in the sense that professional tennis would be an absolutely horrible lifestyle if you didn't enjoy the sport. Tomic has made his bed at this point, but I hope young Destanee understands what she's getting herself into, and that the route to making money in tennis is extraordinarily difficult and that there are never any guarantees, regardless of talent. I hope for her sake she has good enough self-awareness to be able to recognise when/if it's affecting her wellbeing, and significant enough backup plans to be able to pull the plug if it gets to that point.

Do a Barty and play cricket for a year. That has helped Barty so so so so much. Compare that to Tomic and the slow slow(and now very fast) death he is suffering from.

She can do what she wants in life. She owes me nothing. I am worried about how that attitude will affect her tennis in the long run but I am sure she isn't the only player who thinks this.

Matty Ebden doing his usual tri-annualish late run of Challenger form to try and get himself in the top 100 for AO.

Only 6 will be available as 1 will go to the u/18 National Champion. The corresponding girl's champion will get a MDWC.

Pretty sure Kokk and maybe Millman have PR to use for MD, and Barton would have a PR to get into Qualifying. Duckworth would also have a PR for MD if he's fit.

Well that Tomic winning streak soon came to an end. Lost 7-6(3), 7-6(2). No service breaks in the entire match.
AFAIK he's playing the Brescia Challenger next week.

With Aiava losing yesterday, Rogowska's MDWC is sealed. Clearly the most consistent player through this series.

I read somewhere she has had previously seven Australian Open MD Wildcards and won two first rounds? Any idea if that is accurate?

Yes, she's been a bit of a broken record. It's typical of a player who has been ranked 100-300 year upon year. Plays her best tennis on the Pro Tour here (9 consecutive years w/ at least 1 title). Don't think she and the likes of Arina Rodionova (a similar-type player) will graduate into being top 100 players.
