Pliskova really should have won the US Open last year after being up a break in the third against Angelique Kerber and losing it to nerves (and of course Kerber's increased experience and phenomenal return game).

I'm happy to see her win the Brisbane International this year, and would not be surprised to see her make a Grand Slam final or two again this year.

I hope she wins one too.
