What if teams could go to any of the AFL approved grounds in any week and play whoever else turns up. Automatic win if you are the only team there. If more than two teams, round robin games after teams draw lots to see who plays first.

Would be fun watching the lengths clubs will go to with trying to outfox one another. Certainly less random outcomes than the current system.
