Stephenson a good chance, Coffield unlikely, IMO. Brandon White ahead of him you would hope and others potentially ahead of Brando.

Won't be surprised if Newnes goes back to play Joey's role and Blacres is moved up to the wing to begin his domination of the comp.

This was an interesting post from someone on the D&T board yesterday:

Straight from the horses mouth... (NM Staff Member). The club is seriously considering Nathan Murphy at pick #4, they rate the kid big time and will grab him if Stephenson is already gone. They've cooled on Cerra (questions over his attitude). They've also cooled on Fogarty due to his injuries.
Whoever posted it has come out all guns blazing with lots of posts like this with a new account, so who knows if he's legit or not. Don't think this will play out though as there seems no chance Stephenson goes before North's pick.

He reckons Cerra tanked his interview (checking his phone and so-on during it!) with North because he doesn't want to go there and that his preference is Collingwood or us.

Zero chance? That’s a big call mate.

Everyone of our first round draft picks have played round one since our rebuild started. I can’t see why it couldn’t happen.
Weller plays ahead of Stephenson, and potentially Long or Lonie. Plenty ahead of Coffield.

Seriously seriously doubt it would happen.

I reckon Fogerty is the one at 10..

Christmas is coming next Friday for us! :p
Forgarty is a polarizing figure. Some think he's "the one" in the entire draft with others thinking he'll slide out of the top 10. Not sure myself, he has bust written all over him IMO. Definition of high risk/ high reward.

Stephenson is the one for you guys if he does slide. The most likely of the top half dozen players to slip outside that range and one of the best. He's a really good fit for your midfield and a real point of difference to what you've already got. Acres and Stephenson on the two wings would be a real weapon running between defense and attack.

I’d expect Stephenson to be a huge chance to be honest. That position was almost a turnstile last year so there’s a huge opportunity there and he clearly has the talent.

Plenty of draftees play round one, it wouldn’t be that out of the ordinary and we are clearly trying to add some pace to our side so it makes sense.

Just posted on the Pies board a few mins ago:

Speaking with an employee of another club

Believes we are favouring Fogarty at this stage.
Any change on who you're hearing we're favouring or looking likely to get mate?

I wouldn't be surprised, Stephenson to me is the best in the draft as far as ceiling goes. To me he'll be a star.

So... on the basis of the latest scuttlebutt...

#1 - Bris: Andrew BRAYSHAW
#2 - Frem: Paddy DOW/LDU
#3 - Carl: Cameron RAYNER
#4 - North: Jaidyn STEPHENSON/Nathan MURPHY
#5 - Frem: Jaidyn STEPHENSON/Nathan MURPHY
#6 - Coll: Darcy FOGARTY
#7 - StK: Hunter CLARK
#8 - StK: Nick COFFIELD/Adam CERRA*

*apparently wants us or the Pies, but you’d think Freo wouldn’t let him past them.

InB4 BONAR goes at #9 and becomes Bont 2.0 :tearsofjoy:

Yep, he's a goal kicker and still very defensive. I'd boot Lonie or Mav out for him.

Playing a couple sneaky Candy Crush levels under the table on his phone they say. If thats what it takes to get to the Sainters. Smart move by the kid. Determination rather than poor attitude Id say:thumbsu:

Going off UI’s whispers...

1. Bris - Rayner (or Brayshaw)
2. Freo - LDU (or Rayner)
3. Carl - Dow
4. NM - Stephenson
5. Freo - Brayshaw (or Cerra)
6. Coll - Fogerty
7. StK - Cerra (or Brayshaw)
8. StK - Bonar (or Coffield/Clark/Murphy)

Crazy that if Brayshaw doesn’t go #1 he could slide to #7 !

Brayshaw is a funny one. Seems as though he's high on the boards of the interstate teams (probably because they reckon he'll stick around, as you've said), but seems unlikely to be picked by say Carlton or North. Could easily see Pies going a different way if he's still on the board there too.

Definitely going to be an interesting draft night.

Bishop has us taking Fogarty and Bonar now. I’ve gotta say, I’d feel a bit flat if that were to happen. Both huge risks, high reward types though.
Surely not Bishop?

I appear to be one of the few who wants to draft Constable. I know this view has little support.

I’m a novice and inexpert at judging young talent, but this lad is a footballer and not an athlete.

He gets the ball and uses it effectively. His endurance & fitness appears to need a lot of work but he has the tools to play the game. Give me a footballer any day.

I think we’ll regret passing on him.
To a certain extent i agree neil but 8mins for 2k would be considered poor if he was playing ammos...

Simply have to be able to run in todays game

Am I the only one not entirely convinced that Clark will be a star?

To me his kicking is far from elite, his handballs often aren't to advantage and seem rushed. He is a bit of pinball and looks like he could break lines but I am not sure he is anything to get overly excited about based on the admittedly small sample set I've seen.

Perhaps is just his long hair and headband but I'm just not sold for some reason.

From what I understand at the moment it's very much likely to be Clark & one of Bonar/Fogarty. Saints were in SA recently doing a home visit for Fogs, but at the same time Nth 4 & poss. Coll 6 could take Fogarty. Bonar could even go at 6 - but unlikely from what I hear lately.

Goddamnit you Clark Kent-looking, weedy mother******, don’t do this to me...

Bonar, Clark, Brayshaw, Stephenson, now Cerra and Fogarty... who’s next?!!
