**** that. Pick 24 & Hickey for Stringer
Doggies would be loathed to do that... especially if essendon have offered 11.

I think if we want stringer (personally I'm not sold) then a trade with Richmond for 15 and 16 could be on the cards... Or potentially 2 and 12 if rocky leaves.

Sold me StC. I want me some Ryan Liam
He's put on some size this year and was much improved defensively today. Saved a couple of goals.

He's also very good with goal assists. Brings teams mates into the play and pulls off the remarkable to kick off a scoring chain.

Only had 2 goals today but I reckon all up he contributed about 6.

His leap is something else too. Two steps and he's on the ruckmans shoulders standing up like this:

Taberner would have had a pretty good highlight reel last week against Liam's mob. He wants out as well doesn't he. Is he worth a look?

Nah not for us. Subi is undersized down back so that helps to explain that one. Ryan is a better prospect and fits a need.

Tabs is a good prospect though. But not as good as Bruce membrey mccartin battle etc.

Could he do a Liam Jones? Seems athletic but lacks the polish to be a good forward

There is also Tim Kelly over there, 23 yrs of age, said to be a Jimmy Krakourer clone. Dont know who would sppeal most, but could be there at pick 43.
I fancy trading 8 either with Richmond for 15 & 16, or Brisbane for 12 & 18. Hickey and a 4th for 26 (WB.). Lonie and a 4th for 34 (GC_.We would have 7,12, 18. 26. 34. 43. Trade out 2 for a player and we could still go well.

You never downgrade unless a player is involved. Quality over quantity. Kelly should all teach us that. If anything upgrading is the way to go. Also players out of ordinary comps like vfl wafl are risky. It's pretty ordinary football. Remember lee kicked 60 in the wafl

Lee did kick 60 then he busted his left shoulder -- he didnt get it fixed straight away as he wanted to make an impact at the saints early so going through the rehab straight up wouldnt have allowed that - unfortunatly he then did his right shoulder and that stuffed it all up for him , he couldnt do weights he lost a lot of confidence and got over taken by a guy slated as a defender in Bruce , we then pushed him as a defender and were shocked he didnt do well ... Lee was a player he just had an unfortunate set of setbacks that derailed him

i was at the WAFL prelim yesterday and a few players caught my eye...
obviously Liam Ryan.. the guy is a special talent get him goal side of a defender and there isnt a player in the comp that would catch him...
Subi also have another Liam, Liam Baker he is a small built kid but he has goal smarts and a real dig in attitude his disposal is pretty good as well, he would be a small forward at first but could easily become a mid

for South Fremantle Tim Kelly is a solid player good hands good kick and not afraid to get in and under , he played all over the ground and made an impact (shame for South they didnt have three of him cause they needed him forward back and middle) .
Matt Parker is another his runn off half back was great and early in the game it looked like he was going to lead the charge of South out running Subi he was a class above hitting targets on the run really well..

all four guys i reckon would be up to making the AFL grade and all of them bring pace and decent disposal ..

Gaff>>>>Stringer

Not as flashy and doesn't play in Victoria but much more effective.
disagree ... Gaff runs all day but i dont reckon he is damaging 25 possesions from Gaff hurts the opposition less than 10 from Stringer.. Gaff also tends to pull out when its his turn to go and get the hard ball he usually take the first and easy option with disposal not the best option ...
Gaff is a good player but Stringer is a game changer

Stringer has barely been good enough to get a game at the dogs.

Stringer has barely been good enough to get a game at the dogs.
i reckon thats more to do with other factors than his playing ability ...
my personal opinion as a person who sees pretty much every WCE game being here in Perth Gaff is good but hes more the cherry on top type player the guy who you surround with great players and he is awesome and compliments the team perfect but not the guy you build your midfield around he has zero defensive side to his game and doesnt really hit the scoreboard ..
to me Stringer brings unpredictability he is damaging and can change the game into his teams favour with spurts of brilliance .. he is flawed for sure and not a consistant as Gaff but he is a game winner

Gaff you know what you are going to get week in week out never more never less consistant
Stringer when hes on he blows everyone away but he does go missing..

for me i would rather roll the dice and go for the x-factor than a good plodder

Stringer would be a disaster for the Saints. With Roo and Joey gone we are now officially a young team that lacks a bit of outside pace - "let's bring in a guy that is lazy, overweight, slow, can't handle authority, has off-field issues and frankly has not played good footy for about 18 months"..........that is a terrific idea and would go down with the recruiting of Lee, Lovett, Peake and McQualter.

This has certainly piqued my interest StCicatriz. Are there any concerns about him making a move to Victoria? He would certainly add some electricity and a point of difference to our forward-line..
on liam ryan none that i have heard, but with any interstate player or player moving from a regional area it would be a concern

it is worth noting that he came down to Perth at the start of last year from near Geraldton. So he's already moved away from friends and family. he came down and lived with his grand mother from memory

its no different to a lot of the WAFL Colts kids that end up getting drafted, a lot of them aren't from Perth and are brought in from the different recruitment pathways. for example ainsworth is from esperance. SPS was from up north. etc. etc.

He may be a few of those things but he is definitely not slow.
