Bonar looks like he's probably out for the final few minutes after he cushioned someone's fall with his head while applying a tackle to them. :(

Doesn't matter though because they've knocked in another couple of goals! Bonar finishes the game on the field too. :thumbsu:

Great game of football!

Luke Davies-Uniacke huge in the @DandyStingrays 50 pt come from behind #TACCup final victory. Back to his pre-champs best . #AFLDraft
It is this type of performance in TAC Cup finals that can push a kid ahead of other contenders. Recruiters love big finals performances.

Haven't really been keeping a track of the draft this year as not many caught my eye.

How's Dylan Moore going though? Reckon he'll be a great small forward pick up for anyone. Hoping he is still there at our second pick.

Roughsedge's first step is working its way into his game; hopefully by the end of the finals series he shows a bit more explosive power. I doubt he's 186 cms either as he tends to be shorter than most midfielders in footage I've seen.

Charlie Thompson's an interesting one, and I suspect he'll go up the draft boards if his string of form continues; beautiful kick. My only knock is that he probably needs to improve his core compared to the rest of his conditioning work; has a touch of the Robinson/Darling look about him that tends to hurt your acceleration and change of direction as you progress in senior ranks. Looks top 30 for mine.

You can see why Coffield and Naish are rated top 20: great athletes with good skills and decision making.

Richards has quite the shock of hair and looks a really solid option for a rebounding defender, but probably not quite top 30 material.

Penrith's endurance testing will be interesting to see at the combine, because there was a huge opportunity for him to play outside midfield in this match if the coach was willing. Does well with the ball in his area, but perhaps lacks the ability to really get up the field, though I put some of this down to him being used in deep roles when playing at either end. Maybe he can get a nod for one of the U18 rep games and get trialled there, but at this stage he's probably cementing himself as a late pick project, but one with real talent and application.

Wooller's kicked a few but is very meat and potatoes as a marking option up forward, maybe a tad undersized for the role at AFL level, but is dynamic enough at ground level to be considered a medium option.

Speaking of meat, Petruccelle has none. Exciting player but he'll need a lot of work in the gym.
Roughsedge:
That's just not going to happen until he's done a preseason Jimmae. He's had his leg in a calliper for over a year to realign the bones in the top and bottom halves of his leg to give his knee a bit more leeway. We're not talking about a stock-standard ACL. There will have been massive muscle wastage here and he'd still be rebuilding his tank from scratch. It's amazing that he's already able to cover as much ground as he does. Was not expected to play any footy this year.

Thought his 1st Qtr was good, 2nd Qtr didn't see a lot of it, 3rd Qtr fabulous, 4th Qtr fell away as he tired. Nearly always gets an effective disposal away when he gets the pill. Very, very rarely wastes the ball when he uses it by hand or foot and his ability to find/put some else into space shows his ability with regards to decision-making and vision. I don't think it's any coincidence Oakeigh's late season charge over the last month has coincided with his return to the Chargers outfit.

Realistically, we're talking 4th Round+ area depending upon what he produces between now and the end of the year. A fit Roughsedge would've gone Top 10 last year so if you're prepared to invest a late/rookie pick there's the potential for an excellent return. There's no need to spend big tickets here to get him Jimmae.

Petruccelle:
Drives me bonkers. Yes he has talent, is incredibly ****ing fast, but he just doesn't do enough. Penrith does more, just not quite as well.

Penrith:
He didn't cope well with the step up in class at the National Champs. I think he's better suited to this standard of competition and his ball-handling is much cleaner as a result. I still think he's a rookie selection at best.

Would also like to hear from the regular watchers on Tom Murphy? I suspect disposal is his knock but he covers the ground really well and smartly, certainly from a defensive standpoint.
He works back into the defensive 50 well to help out the back half and his tacking, whether in defence or through the middle of the ground, is a feature of his play. Is a nice size, gets up and down the ground well and importantly can find and win his own ball. His last month has been pretty consistent, but yes his disposal can be ordinary even without pressure.

Speaking of Murphys, keep your eyes skinned for Nathan Murphy (Sandringham Dragons) and give me your thoughts.

Arr0w I think LDU locked himself into the top 3 after yesterday's performance. He really impressed me.

I know you're not as high on him as others, but did his performance yesterday change your mind at all?

I asked the question last week as to why some people don't rate him? Not sure why but I think he is as good as anyone in the draft

Stephenson the same

LDU has all the attributes, just doesn't get enough of it, lack of repeat efforts and suspect disposal over shorter distances for where people rank him, at this stage.

Stephenson has similar issues with disposals around the ground and seems to me that he struggles when the contest is tight

IMHO

Agree with those points but I'm seeing signs that those areas are improving and they can turn into consistent players. More is see LDU the more I like. I see huge upside. I was keen for Rayner/Dow but now I am not so sure. Be very interesting to sit in on an interview and know what they are like. Makes a big difference and SOS will pick qualityy kids that are enthusiastic and prepared to work.

Understandable

One thing I will say, people forget players that have been injured, Rayner, Dow, Cerra and even Spargo who I rate as a 1st rounder
