Hayes hasn't even been invited to the draft (19 have been invited). There is no way he will be going at either of Freo's picks. Considering that neither North or Carlton would recruit Naughton with pick 3 or 4, there is also no way Freo would take Naughton at pick 2 (if they were at all interested in him).
You mean Dow isn't our man?
If Brisbane do take Rayner and Freo want to get in ahead of us for Cerra then Dow would very much be a possibility.

I don't mind either, but i would have others around the mark ahead personally.
Silvagni has stated that we are after mids and forwards so i take that to mean 3, 10 and 30. That is really what we need badly. So i doubt we take Stoddart, even though it has been rumoured. Stoddart may be able to play wing also but i can't see us taking him. I only see us taking that type if maybe Ed Richards drops(but he almost certainly won't). Stoddart and Ling are the left footer types that we seem to like, but i just don't see it with them at #30 when we need mid/forwards in bulk.
Starcevich fits the mould and looks/sounds promising. I haven't seen much of him but apparently he doesn't get much ball yet but has a lotta tools. At #30 my favorite is Will Walker who looks the goods to me as a goalkicking forward who already plays well in the midfield as well. He has the pace and touch and goal nous of Will Haywood imo.
If Lochie Fogarty drops(doubtful) i would be keen on him too. But Walker should be available. Starcevich and Jackson Ross would be looked at.
My pref is 2 mid/forwards at #3 and #10 and Will Walker or L.Fogarty at #30.
Yeah I remember reading that rumour. I thought it was bizarre considering they just unearthed Darcy who looks like a 10 year ruckman.
Also Hayes said the other day on Sen that he'll be home on draft night. Suggests that he's not on anyones top ten list.
I was extremely keen on O'Brien at 10, but didnt like the rumour someone posted about the Vic Coach saying he was scared of his own shadow.

Yeah, it was Kim Hagdorn, hack WA journo extraordinaire. Apparently he makes Greg Denham look informed by comparison.
I reckon Naughton goes 6 to Collingwood personally. He is just so perfect for them, and it is not a stretch in my eyes because i have him at 5 on my Board. But if he doesn't go to Pies, i can see him slipping to GWS or Adelaide. Saints might take him but i think they take 2 of the other Top 10'ers.

Utter lunacy should freo take that option. With Darcy in the squad why would they want Hayes at all.. let alone to reach at #5.

I would (I don't know about distraught, but disappointed), I think Fogarty will end up doing what Rayner does, only at a higher level.
Understand where you are coming from, personally, there are a number of guys that are around the 30 mark that have x-factor, that don't the attention of a Rayner
Kid is a contested animal and his kicking seems to be getting worse and worse despite the season finishing weeks ago. His clearance work and tackling will see him make it as an AFL player

Scharenberg couldn't run, couldn't kick. That's Bentick territory.
Worpel has athleticism in spades, and despite his kicking inconsistencies he will go in the 25-50 range.
