I wouldn't be writing off Fogarty off just yet, how does he differ from the likes of Petracca on paper? I think me and Jimmae prefer similar types of players, where we might differ is how they might relate to Carlton's needs and when to prioritise.

Fogarty is a good player he's some where between Stringer and Petracca would be a good addition to the team no doubts but we have Charlie who is similar player.
I hope we choose Jaiden Stephenson, the most naturally gifted player in this draft with X factor and good speed too.

I haven't seen a lot of Stephenson yet but it is a very game recruiter who takes an outside winger with a top 5 pick. There game does not translate as easily to afl as contested players.

I thought in recent years it was well known that outside players slip down the order on draft day. Obviously Stephenson is talented but all the recruiters will be keeping a very close eye on his contested ball work.

Unless Stephenson has a decent contested game Silvagni won't take him early. That's what lm guessing anyway.

I agree with this assessment. Strikes me as one that beasts the under agers but may not be as effective in the AFL as some others.

Although Fogarty isn't doing a lot at the moment when l watch his highlights l see someone with enormous upside.

A comparison was made to Francis earlier. Francis was never as powerful and strong in the contest as this kid. Francis was a slightly different type for mine.

I actually see a little bit of Cripps in this kid.

It would be interesting to know if fogarty is playing with an injury because his current form is a concern. Although l like the look of him it's hard to use a top 5 pick on someone who isn't doing more. We might need the whole season to judge him correctly.

Ben Miller is not a bad option later in the draft.
I am intrigued. You have a better knowledge and understanding of the "kids" than most.
Ben Miller is listed at 196cm, playing as undersized ruck come kpp for WA, what makes you
believe he can transition to a genuine AFL ruckman?

Edit: Not a standout or anything, but liked a couple of glimpses on Tristan Xerri, big boy at 202/95,
not sure of the "attraction" just looks like a slow burn, big kid who is still growing. Might be a
"value", late option pick.

Seen any big body rucks you like - More in the Darcy mould than the English mould. I know Hayes is running around doing pretty well, I like him but don't think he'll be there for a pick we'd be willing to spend on him. Anyone looking like a good 2nd or 3rd round big boy?
The one I've really liked is Bailey Williams. Attacks the ball in the air when he goes for his marks, covers the ground well and looks dangerous when playing as a forward. Need to spend a mid to late 2nd Rounder to get him given the lack of depth in this years draft.

Joel Grace did a few nice things for Metro against Vic Country at Punt Rd and he's one you'd be able to pick up with Rookie selection. If you're watching the games on FOX then keep half an eye on Brayden Crossley for the Allies. Part of the Suns academy, but given that they already have Witts and a young developing ruck in Nicholls, he could be one they let slide through. Been one of the better players for the Allies right through the carnival.

Sam Hayes (Metro) & Callum Coleman-Jones (SA) came into the Championships with big reputations, but both have had pretty poor Carnivals to this point. Good news is they both get another opportunity today to redeem themselves.

I see Miller more as a genuine Ruck/Forward. He has a very good rounded game, agile, agressive and doesn't mind racking up tackles. His leap is also impressive and given where things may be heading in the AFL (Eliminating the bounce), he would benefit. Miller has already played senior footy in Kalgoorlie, which is a good initiation to bigger bodies. At 196 & 98, he may still be growing. He will be watched closely I am sure.

I do like Xerri, just believe Miller is more of a natural footballer, with greater agility.

As you know, with kids of this size, they need to be monitored closely after the championships to see how they progress.

Take it with a grain of salt but I have heard from someone very close to a potential first round draftee that Darcy Fogarty doesn't want to/won't leave SA.
If he slides out of the top 10 on that, the system is a joke.

Talking to an ex recruiter and I keep saying Rayner is close to Wingard and he thinks Heeney.
Just has that power when playing forward like Heeney.

So there are two different schools of thought with regards to Rayner.

Sounds pretty impressive.
Wouldn't say no to that type of player.

Brayshaw - I think I might have to place him in my top 10 in my next update. I like the looks of this kid.
North - I don't mind him, another player worth looking at closer.

Hayes - He has shown a few glimpses of what I saw last year, so I may have been a touch harsh on Hayes. Did a few high football IQ players, lovely little taps and nice sidestep. Still very slow to get ball to boot.
