Pick 39 plus our 20% discount would be more than enough for Edwards, though I doubt we'll need to use that, and it will also be down to the CC trade now if it goesahead.
I don't even know what picks we have anymore lol. so many swaps in the 3 trades, wow weird saying that, we did 3 trades so far...
So you reckon we could get Edwards for cheaper than 39? Whats our next pick after that, like 77, how will that work points wise.

So,

I believe its

Pick 12
Pick 39
Pick 77

Do we take Edwards at 39, or 77?

I think if we are drafting 2 plus Edwards, we need to delist 1 more if upgrading Keath and Greenwood, or are the rookie rules changing?

Have heard from a family friend that Crows one of 5-6 clubs to speak to Stefan Giro. Apparently Port haven’t said anything to him. Crows seemed very interested.

Looks like he's tested well, so he's certainly an athlete. But is he a footballer too?

I guess it depends on whether anyone bids on him before our pick 39. If there's a quality kid available at Pick 39, I'd like us to pick him up and use 77 on Edwards, and delist a player if we have to (probably CEY). I'm guessing we will likely have to use Pick 39 on Edwards though, someone will bid on him.

Bookmark Carlton to take Fogarty with Pick 10. :expressionless:

Don't think for one second Vic clubs will consider taking a Victorian over an interstater given a judgement decision on ability and if it's close

This trade period has proven how many players played the go home card and the risk it is in picking up players out of your home state

From the little I've seen of Giro, he is every bit a footballer. What he lacks is size and footskills.

Seen more of Crowden as a junior, and he again is a footballer lacking size. His kick is very solid, but otherwise lacks real weapons.

Both undersized mids that are a real shot to make it and would be worth a look for clubs picking past 60 imo

Thank you for the info. :)

Have you seen much of Fogarty?

Almost for sure by my reckoning. Also won't be surprised if we draft a couple of SA boys with our later picks now if there still on the table.....McPherson, Ballard, Crowden, Kreuger, Houlahan, Giro etc, all a little speculative but thetalent is certainly there if they kick on.
OK bicks.. give us your ratings for our draft picks!!! :) who do we select if available?

Thank you for the info. :)

I've never seen him live myself, only YouTube and the draft watchers here. My cousin saw him in his underage year and summed him up in one word; "Freak".

I just think where he lands will rely on if clubs see him developing as a mid. Anyone more than 70% sure will take him well before pick 15 IMO. Unless he grows, unfortunately I just don't see him offering a shed tonne as a permanent fwd or defender. Draft day will tell us what the recruiters see him projecting as.

High risk, high reward imo

this board is fogarty obsessed ... cant wait to see the fallout when ogilvy selects some random basketballer that only started playing afl 2 years ago.

You're right, but it's only natural considering the amount of interstaters we've lost since 2010. As soon as a highly rated South Australian comes along within reach of us, of course we're going to get excited by him. :)

If it's me I'm taking Dandenong Stingray/Vic Country's Hunter Clark at pick 12 if available, pick 39 I'm taking WWT/SA's Andrew McPherson, Pick 77 with our 20% discount should just about land Jackson Edwards. Hunter Clark is a former teammate of Myles Poholke.
You know more than me Bicks but I rate that assessment. Would be a good draft for us if it lands that way. Usually a top 10 pick slides out to 12 so I hope Hunter is available

Lever had no problem extending his rookie contract too. :(

I rate your assessment, but I get nervous with the Vic kids.

You not fogarty obsessed like the rest or you think he's gone before our pick?

Doesn't Knightmare have a very good record of picking the draft order in the first round? If so, Fogarty is still going at 6?

If we go by his list we will get Lochie Obrien. What worries me is the elite kick tag :). We just sent our previous elite kicker to the Gold Coast hahaha. But seriously, he sounds good. Sounds like he did well as a bottom-ager, which I think is always a plus because he is going up against bigger bodies than his.

12. Lochie O'Brien (VIC)

Best position: Outside midfield
Height, weight: 184cm, 75kg
Recruited from: Bendigo Pioneers
Projected draft range: First round
Similar to: Mitch Duncan
September Ranking: Not ranked
Rationale: Arguably the best kick in the draft and one of the best outside runners. Reclaims top 20 position on the back of strong performance in Under-18 All Star game. Performances this season have been below expectation due to niggling injuries which has seen his draft stocks drop over past 12 months, but deserves benefit of the doubt based on the damage he did at his best in 2016.
Strengths:
Arguably the best kick in the draft with his precision, variety of kicks he can execute, hurt factor and dual sided kicking
Lowers eyes
Vision
Decision
Making
Line breaker
Acceleration
Evasiveness
Agility
Overhead marking
Production
Versatility to play midfield or on flanks at either end
Weaknesses:
Stoppage work
Contested ball winning
Consistency

If you watched the trade period just finished we werent alone, was there an extrodinary amount of go home factor

That didnt include teh two or three they didnt get to go home like Francis

Vic clubs will be more inclined to pick Vic talent WA clubs may take the same attitude along with SA clubs
