What are people's thoughts on Andrew McPherson from WWT?

Missed the majority of the year with various injuries, but seems a likely type from some of descriptions I've read.

You do realise over the years the greater majority of the interstate boys have given us great service, can't let 3 or 4 douches influence our drafting.

We should back in our recruiting guys to identify the best talent and do their due diligence on character etc. Leaver and Gunston are really the only ones they've got real wrong. The real disappointing one is Leaver because all the mail around him re character and leadership etc was very, very positive, unfortunately it is my belief that father "Damir" Leaver was the joker in the pack here with his friendship with media personality Brian Taylor who it appears from the outside has had way to much influence in Leaver's desertion.

Personally I think he's the 2nd best SA prospect after Fogarty and one that is almost a certainty to be a good AFL player, very good foot skills, good overhead, decent endurance, probably starts across half back but is one lad I could see transitioning into the midfield as he's not afraid to put his head over the footy and go hard.

SA's Houlahan, Coleman Jones and possibly Krueger probably go earlier in the draft according to the pundits but McPherson would be the one I'd take.

Although a little shorter I see him as similar prospect to Matt Scharenberg in his draft year, unfortunately he's had injuries this season that haven't allowed him to show his wares on the big stage but that could work to our advantage at the draft table.

Our team would pretty much look the same, except we'd have players that we thought weren't as good.

Doedee is ready to dominate next year, so that picks looking like genius.

Genius is a bit of a stretch. I agree that he’s in a good position leading into 2018, but while local lad Burton continues to tear up the competition, Tom has some catching up to do.

    Thanks for the info Bicks

Do you think he'll last to our second round pick if we keep it?

More than likely given he's had a down year through injury, nothing major but it's probably taken a lot of the interstate recruiters focus off him.

Some pretty decent pace off the mark from GWV Rebel 202cm 105kg big Lloyd Meek pretty decent endurance for such a big guy too, right up there with some of the mids...Surely a club picks him up this year?

Jordy Johnston right up there with the top medium forwards.

So if our earliest pick is 10 what are the chances of Fogarty been there?

What FS picks and academy picks will be taken before pick 10 that will push pick 10 out?

Don't see the relevance in any draft as they are players that no other club has access to if they are quality because they'll be matched.

The only two even in any sort of contention for Round 1 picks would be Naish [F/S] and Ballenden [Bris Academy] and really think it's highly, highly unlikely they'd be bid on inside the top ten, in fact probably not until the 2nd round IMO.

With Menzel and Cameron both gone, that small/medium fwd depth is essentially left to last year's draftees in Gooch, Davis and Jarman (could be missing someone obvious).

Assuming Garlett doesn't come over in a Lever trade, nor Motlop, who would be a good fit from this years draft as a ~180cm, speedy tackling machine. Most likely available in the rookie draft or late.

Personally Spargo would do me with a 30+ pick, but Vic Metro...

Jordan Johnston around the 184cm mark reckon he goes 3rd round onwards, doubt he gets through to the rookie draft, would be a steal if he got that far, and unlike Charlie a very reliable kick and dead eye dick in front of goal, has very good pace but not express like Cameron, hard at the ball and opponent and spectacular aerial ability.

Bicks, if we get Francis, does this change the outlook on getting Forgety, does he become a must or is still best available talent. Some pretty decent power mids coming into play around pick 10

You'd have to say at this point in time Fogarty's probably the "safer" option of the two given Francis is 3 years in to his AFL career and has yet to prove he has the will and commitment to succeed at the level, in fact till now he's done the polar opposite.

Not sure who these "power" mids you refer to are, the only mids I rate highly that may still be around after Pick 9 are Hunter Clark who's more an inside/outside mid, James Worpel who is definitely a "power" mid but we'd likely get him with pick 18 and Aiden Bonar if we think we've seen enough of him that cries out midfielder, he's certainly powerful. All of Rayner, Davies-Unakie, Dow, Cerra and Constable and Brayshaw likely gone by pick 10. I'd be taking Worpel with pick 18 personally if he's still there and I think the odds are he will be.

Burton is alright. Good footballer. Not convinced he's ultimately a defender. Seems good at spreading for the footy but the juries out about him a competitive defender.

Doedee is a great intercepting mark and wants the challenge of winning contests as a defender.

And when Lever goes, he steps into that spot perfectly.

Sounds like a great pick to me.

Is Jackson Edwards still on the cards as a father son pick this draft? Haven't heard much hype about it yet.

I think it's a given we're taking him.....Was seen in the rooms along with brother Luke chatting to Lleyton Hewitt and Sauce after the Prelim win, I took that as a pretty good indication where Jackson sits with us.

Think we should trade Doedee for Francis only problem is the Dons probably won't cop it

Both underperforming give them both a new lease of life

Nah, I'd keep Doedee. I think you will be pleasantly surprised next year.

But I'd also go for Francis.
