Brander comes from Mildura region. Little chance of flight risk here.
If his stated desire to play for Collingwood is true then I consider him a flight risk. He also had 3 years at Geelong Grammar. He is attuned to the City life imo

Got a feeling Keath won't be upgraded

Be surprised if we didn't want to use pick 39 on a player ( not Edwards who will be later ) given the Wigg trade

Keath will absolutely be upgraded, AND we'll also absolutely use Pick 39 on a player other than Edwards.

Plenty of room on the senior list to achieve both of these outcomes, in addition to drafting Edwards later, as we went in short in 2017.

We've also still got some fringe guys out of contract, so there's always that too.

It'll probably be 7 ins and 6 outs

In: Keath, Greenwood, Gibbs, Gibson, 12, 39, Edwards
Out: Menzel, Gore, Lever, Wigg, Cameron, Thompson

Ok, what is the chance that Crows pick TMenzel up as a rookie? His departure was pretty low key and if his relatively high salary was the reason for not renewing his contract, could Crows pick him up as a rookie (if Troy is happy with it)? This way he doesn't take a up a spot on the main list. Could they have just offered him a much lower contract? Or could there be other reasons beside money the Crows have delisted him?

Really starting to warm on Balta. Foot Skills look very good, over long and short distances. Out of him and Hunter I reckon unless Bonar or Fogarty slide to us.

Pick 39 way too early to be upgrading rookies. I know people are calling it a weak draft (which has been said before about previous drafts which have turned out OK) but there will definitely be some young talent at that pick, Edwards or otherwise.
There is no way you'd use pick 39 for rookie upgrades - agreed

We have 5 list vacancies - 3 if both greenwood and keath are elevated. Surely we will run a full list next year? So we would need 3 more players.

Rookie-wise, is it that can have up to six?
Jarman
Hunter
Beech
Shaw

Edit: actually i think it might be 4??

So all depending where we can grab edwards at hopefully 77 gives us 12 and 39, Im happy with that

As for Rookies will any of those 4 be cut, you would think two at least giving us two rookie spots again happy with that

Shaw has been removed already. No word on Beech or Hunter

Depends on how many spots are filled on the senior list. Can be up to 9 (i think, off of the top of my head) if you only fill the minimum of 38 players on the senior list. 7 if all 40 spots are filled on the senior list.

If Fogarty is gone and I think he will be Clark would be my preference of the players that are realistically likely to be available at our pick, the only two midfielders that offer the same blend of inside/outside that I'd take before Clark are Paddy Dow and Luke Davies-Unakie and they'll both be long gone at our pick, the only other pure mid I'd take before Clark would be Adam Cerra. I unashamedly like Clark because I've seen up close what he offers, hardness, good speed, dual sided, good overhead, elite tackler, runs as just hard when not in possession as when he has ball in hand.

My Hamish Ogilve left field "special" would be Noah Balta...
I like the look of Hunter Clark too, looks the goods with beautiful kick on both sides, has bit of height, smooth mover, tough, good mark, looking at vision he has traits of Bont, Fyfe and Sloane. Would be happy with him at 12

A few big movers in the AFL's Draft Expert Cal Twomey's top 25 Board, and a few new faces. Andrew Brayshaw up from 11 to 6, Hunter Clark up from 13 to 9, Aiden Bonar up to 19 from outside the top 25, Zac Bailey a new face at 25. Our boy Darcy Fogarty steady at 7 in this update.

Bailey should be rated higher. Another one with a nicely rounded game, but has decent speed (which he uses to break away from contests a lot) and is very nuggety and hard at it.

I have him at 18. If we still had 16, I'd be fine if we took him there
