Because for the life of you , you dont understand the decision made at the time. ''Burtons leg looks like its been through a car crash, the structural integrity may hold up for a few years but the constant workload may reduce its viability in 3-4 years'' ( paraphrased medical report as reported by most)

Graham, a player wins a flag in his first 5 games and suddenly he is a star? Lets wait and see ok

So when I question the fact that Burton was from my club and Ive spoken to Liptak personally I was shot down that I wouldnt know it was patient doctor privedge but you are quoting his injuries as gospel what happened to patient doctor priveledge

He did the bloody thing 4 years ago and came second in the rising star last year, get it through your head it hasnt affected him or he wouldnt be detroying it at the elite level, Im a bit over it is going to affect him. A bit like Shaun Burgoyne was cooked his knees were stuffed when he left Port according to Port supporters and hes still playing bloody good footy at 34 years of age, then Andrew Macleod had no cratlidge in his knee but managed to play over 300 games which is pretty damn rare to even make 300 games

If Fogarty is gone - there ain't any SA players that are close to being worthy of pick 12 so it's a moot point

Hayward- still disappointed we didn't grab him but with fogarty likely gone there will be no Hayward type SA kids worthy of pick 12

Then thats fine if thats the thoughts but I doubt it , I like Mcpherson and think he is going to be a champ, I know a fair bit about him and he looks like a solid 200 gamer although only a HBF and would rather use twelve on a mid so maybe we do need to take a flight risk but all avenues need to be explored

Will Crouch re sign and Sloane both are up this year arent they

The Broken record or the repeat rinse is Danger, Lever, gunston, CC

Will crouch sign at the end of his contract?????

Look at you quoting Dr patient privilege. Are you saying his injuries aren't as bad as I have reported? And you know this how? Dr patient privilege.

You may be right BUT AT THE TIME the advice was to walk away. The AFC may regret that choice but they won't look back at it

Not what I heard from the player himself, he was confident he would be playing football again and what he said has proven correct he is not only playing but actually playing bloody good footy, we can only look at the results . What did you quote that he may never run ever again obviously who ever wrote that is a dimwit and has no idea as he was running pretty damn well, when he cut up Tex and kicked a couple at AO this year, only quoting facts now, not some idiots opinion. Youre quotes of never running again looks as though to be the old FAKE NEWS quote now, would that be fair to say?

Might want to look at the OFFICIAL AFL video Footage of Hunter Clark at the link below done by a professional video editor, and hear what some of the players that get up close and personal on the footy field with Hunter have to say about his game style.

Hear what other likely 1st Round draftees including team-mates Luke Davies-Unakie and Aiden Bonar and opposition player Lochie O'Brien have to say about his toughness and skill set as well as hear from Hunter himself. You'll notice how Rory Sloane like he is going back with the flight with no fear and his competitive spirit. See link for the footage and interviews.

Like his attack on the footy. The fact that he makes unforced errors rings alarm bells, but one youtube video is too small a sample size. The fact that he is small for a modern mid and he isn't an elite kick are too pretty big crosses. He would need to be absolutely elite at winning his own ball. Rory Sloane is one of a kind, I wouldn't want us recruiting players of Rory's raw skillset because 99% of them wont have that unique qualities that sets Rory apart from the rest.

No I never quoted he would never run again. I said his knee was compared to a car accident. As I said, right now it looks as if the AFC got this one wrong but at the time the advice was that he would be a risk. Lets come back to this after he plays 6 years.

Now as you are the smartest person on BF can you please list the 2 players the AFC should get at 12 and 39. Shouldnt be too hard for you.

No you didn't, the actual "dimwit"that said Burton may never run again was actually his surgeon Dr. Matthew Liptak.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-11-...-that-could-have-ended-ryan-burtons-afl-dream

It was a worrying time for Burton and his family, the unfamiliar chaos of the ward adding to their stress. When his pain gradually dissipated, Burton was moved to a normal recovery room upstairs at the hospital, but Liptak had some sobering news after reviewing the surgery.

"You might never be able to run again," he told Burton. "There's a chance you'll never play footy again."

So how wrong was Dr Fumbles

Although he did say the word MIGHT or CHANCE,, so it was only a suggestion on what could occur, probably no different to having a knee recon where there is a CHANCE it may not work or MIGHT go again

Obviously that chance didnt occur and he was able to run as he is playing outstanding football at the elite level

I would suggest we go Fogarty and young McPherson

Then it had better be a KPD because Keath is our only back up in that area, some handy developing KPD prospects could be available around our Pick 39, Harrison Petty, Oscar Claravino and Sam Taylor 3 that come to mind unless we were looking at Aaron Naughton or Noah Balta with pick 12.

I do like Petty, but will he still be there for 39.
KPD and mid-size defenders Would be our biggest weakness in depth.
Unless they Plan to Play Himmelberg down back for development. Dear showed a little promise but seems a bit slow for AFL. Otten too slow for the recent trend of smaller quick forwards.
We also lose mid-size defenders if Doedee plays AFL leaving only Cheney,

I’d personally prefer to go mid at 12 and KPD at 39, but how would we feel about going the other way round? Say Worpel/Walker/McPherson at 39 and Naughton at 12?

IMO it wouldn’t be the end of the world

And if their not available at our picks?, btw I've been on the Andrew McPherson bandwagon for over 12 months, same with Lachlan Pascoe who looked a really good prospect until unfortunately doing his ACL earlier this year. I take it you're advocating taking McPherson with Pick 39 if available? If neither are available at our picks 12 & 39 I'm interested as to your fall back players would be??
Probably Sam Davis at 12 and Zerk-Thatcher at 39 :p

I'd do a Hamish and go Noah Balta if we're thinking tall with 12. I'm still expecting we go Mid/Utility with 12 but..
Highly doubt we'll do anything but this ......talls next year

That said, i do like Hayes !

Would be a big risk/reward pick at 12. Reckon Naughton is more of a sure thing (whilst still having upside), so I'd be more comfortable taking him. Rate Balta, though - his style reminds me of Keath

Do agree that it's more likely we take a mid with 12, though

Could you imagine the media circus if we replace a Leaver with a Bolta?

Only us...

The signature watch thread on the Bsy would start within 30 seconds of us drafting him.

Having said that, I wouldn't be averse to drafting him.

He's not my number 1 choice but you've made a few wrong assumptions here

Firstly all these kids make unforced errors , he makes less than most and is one of the better kicks in the draft . Also a good modern day mid size , has courage and kicks well on both sides . Is also versatile as proven half back and hybrid mid

Certainly happy for him to be in mix for our pick

Marty's back up plan - draft the next SA kid or Sharenberg
