Surely if Spargo somehow fell to us, we‘d have to take him. Not a need but jesus, I rate him a lot higher than 12Terry Wallace's top 20 as at today.
Agree - it will be like the 2015 draft with minimal involvement by usI wouldn't but I highly doubt we will be taking our 1st pick to the draft anyhow, think that will get us Gibbs this time. and our 2nd plus maybe a later pick will land us Edwards. Personally I don't see us having a big draft this year. Next year's 1st I'd be very reluctant to put on the table and certainly not for Gibbs or someone of his ilk, it has to be a "franchise" type player given the strength of the 2018 Draft.
If we lose McGovern, we could still have a first round pick.Agree - it will be like the 2015 draft with minimal involvement by us
Bank Edwards and a trade target eg Gibbs and it could be job done
He's great at what he does but I find him maybe a bit too similar to Brad but not as good ?On Worpel, talking to a Rebels player the other day he tells me all the boys both this year and last year rate Worpel as their hardest opponent, just so tough and aggressive. Has missed the last few weeks with a back injury and has to pass a fitness test before selection for Sunday's game apparently.
2017 SA Ruck/Forward Prospect Callum Coleman-Jones.
SA U18 Callum Coleman-Jones (45) v North Reserves 2017
This is what I'm thinking, he's probably like Brad at the moment. We don't need another Brad, we need an inside mid with a true point of difference, such as good kicking (e.g. Gibbs) or immense burst speed (e.g. drafting a prospect like Petruccelle). He's great at what he does but I find him maybe a bit too similar to Brad but not as good ?
Will check him out in champs , was impressed last year but not sure the right type for us ?
We need some size and height . Geelong looked so much taller and bigger around the ball
At the moment we hold pick 17 , not sure that will get Gibbs on this draft where there is a bit of a drop off after top 10 at this stage only I guess
I'd certainly give pick 16 for Gibbs in this draft , not sure what Carlton will thinkThis is what I'm thinking, he's probably like Brad at the moment. Considering Gibbs' age, I reckon 16-odd would be fine. Gives us both some class and some height around the stoppage.
I'm going to game on Sunday . Say we get WC's pick (11-13), I would be hoping we grab a prospect that could very well turn out elite (i.e. a prospect with some potentially elite traits), e.g. Balta, Petruccelle or Garner.
Hoping we keep Gov though, obviously
We got a first from the Hawks, but it was in a compromised draft, so it was around the pick 24 mark.Didnt we only get a second for Gunston
LOB, Dow and LingI'm going to game on Sunday . Give me a list of your fav country kids
Reckon Carlton would be alright with that this time, given we approach it in the right way. Their midfield is improving, with Murphy performing at his best, plus the addition of SPS and, I reckon, another mid from this year's draft.I'd certainly give pick 16 for Gibbs in this draft , not sure what Carlton will think
Good call re Petruccelle
CJs kicking looks so awkward still but definitely improvedCompares himself to Tom Boyd.
I think Coleman-Jones will play a fair bit up forward with giant under ager Ruben Flynn doing a lot of the Rucking at the Championships.
I'm interested to see how he goes against Lloyd Meek who I've seen up close and is also capable up forward.
One facet that Meek is superior to Coleman Jones...Foot skills.
Think Sam Hayes has them both covered for leap.

I haven't been taking much notice of the 2018 crop, but I've heard very good things about it, so tend to agree.Maybe !
Bicks idea is better for them especially if we make top 4 this year
I wouldn't be trading a 2018 1st rounder in a hurry
