Mate it's not about that we need to pick SA talent that can perform FFs burton was a shoe in and Graham wasn't far off being the best player at the 18 championship

I'm calling that Graham has played a key role in a premiership win and he wouldn't have been a risk of going home.
Mate he's an SA lad first year in the AFL and kicked three goals to make a huge difference in winning a premiership

We could have picked him instead of Poholke or Himmelburg. Neither seem like they're leaving.
Plus I don't think Graham would have played yesterday for us.
If we had recruited Graham.. He wouldn't have played this year thats for sure

Why not rookie J. Scharenberg?
Punting on him is surely worth a spot on the rookie list.
Bloke should have taken his kick up the bum after not getting picked up last year. Had better numbers in the SANFL than any of our 2016 draft/rookie selections (admittedly I didn't actually watch any Bays games), and was named in their best (not saying much in this side) 8 out of 15 times.
I think we have 3 very good inside mids but we probably want 2 more. I think Douglas needs to be phased out of the best 22 over 2018, and Greenwood is promising but not a certainty for best 22. That leaves Wigg, Poholke... Signorello (maybe Hampton can play inside?). Any way you look at it, it is certainly not the depth we need for another premiership tilt. Scharenberg is a renowned contested/tackling beast, and at worst gives cover.
Additionally increases come-home factor for M. Scharenberg...

Every week I look at SANFL team selections and to my recollection he was named at half back on most occasions.......and perhaps you can explain the lack of clearances he had for someone playing as such a prolific mid and all the matches he either had no clearances or the one or two only? Every week without fail I check the SANFL Champion Data stat sheet.?? You?

Unfortunately SANFL team selections aren't available in archival form to prove my point but that's definitely where he was named in Round 18.
And I did read an article supporting that view a few weeks ago discussing "mature" age SANFL AFL prospects by SA based Footy Journalist Lee Gaskin of which Jonty was one along with Dom Berry etc.
