If we could trade Wigg with our pick 35 or try and get a pick around 23-26 somehow wouldn't want to give up a first rounder if we could avoid it

We have to █████ port at 29

Or ask if we could swap Doedee but I think they would laugh at us

Knowing the way Dodoro operates, Essendon would probably want 2 first round picks plus Doedee for Francis.

Francis is only 190 cm, his downfall is his poor speed and at that heigh u need some speed or a jumo
He's definitely 193.

And although I don't think we'd be getting him to play levers position, he's way more explosive, powerful and faster than lever.

The guy could be a faster more powerful Otten, that could go into midfield

Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda is the Francis story in a nutshell 3 years into an AFL career.

Forgive me if I'm just a tad cynical about picking up a player with known personal issues after Menzel was delisted yesterday. I seem to recall the same fapping when we traded for Menzel and similarly talent is not the question with Francis either.
No one is questioning that it's a gamble. I'm just one who's happy to have tried and found out rather than not try at all.

In the same way, I'm glad we rolled the dice on Menzel and think the second round gamble was worth it.

I reckon if we continue to gamble like this, we will find as many success stories as fsilures, hopefully more.

So far the right price, I'm all in with Francis

The Jimmy Toumpas rule

It's a thing

Do any of the real draft followers have the intention of doing a final power ranking before trade week? Or a phantom of that's what you're in to?

Mate you talk about watching players I watched Glenelg beat Adelaide reserves Doedee stood an 18 year old rookie and got schooled his poor disposal was the reason adelaide lost the gam

Did you watch it from the bar just like the match in 2016 when you said Greenwood did nothing (but he did get three votes in the Magarey).

Unfortunately Marty, your observations from the bar have proved to be less than reliable.

Why make up crap never ever said anything about greenwood in fact liked the way I saw Greenwood play

You just making up fake news

Doedee has great speed good intercept can kick or has poor decision making on disposal even JJ said it on AA being the reason he hasn't been given a shot

He will need to i motive on that or the turnovers will kill us as I saw it killed the crows reserves against the bays

Fake News? I presume that you would not be critical if I bump the specific quotes when you have said these things. Can I have a few days since you do post a hell of a lot (of ****).

You denying your previous comments about Greenwood is a bit like The Rabbit saying he has always been a big fan of the Crouches.

Your constant tirade against Doedee is getting boring.

I see Francis as Ottens heir. Very versatile forward and back. Very good verticle so might even push for Jenkins spot if he delivers on talent.

Misread this as "Otten's hair"... and had me trying to picture the last time Otten had a fringe or went with a slicked back cut.

You can bump waht you like, I said Greenwood needed time to develop and that was about teh extent of it and will become a good player, GO FOR IT

as for doedee its a fact and Im dissapointed that our recruietrs let a SA lad whi was a gun go, with teh lever and Cameron position do you blame me we here constant crap about Mackay but at least he is capable of playing AFL

Coupla likely lads checking out Second Valley SA recently a favourite haunt of a lot of Crow lads......Jarrod and next years draftee brother Tom, Tom & Jarrod giving Second Valley the big :thumbsu:...Shouldn't have too much trouble selling SA to Tom next year. Hard nosed inside/outside mid just like his brother Jarrod.;)

Tom won the Rebels best 1st year player award last night.

I certainly wouldn't say no to Jarrod either.

Draft, but more so Trade needs.

Two things, and in this order:

  • A contested-mid....that can actually run and do more than just stoppage work. Can mop up crumbs, pressure turnovers, etc., when the ball is in general play away from stoppages (this deficiency was the #1 reason for our loss to Richmond). We do not want or need another player that gets 99% of his disposals at stoppages, but is next to useless in general field play.
  • An agile, crumbing, small forward that does not go up for the ball, but stays at ground level to either successfully mop up the crumbs, and/or provides real chase/pressure at ground level. Betts can do this, but noone else.

Losing Lever will hurt, but our Defence has been built around a team defensive effort, mainly by our mids creating much more pressure on opposition ball carriers further up the ground. Us winning or losing games hasn't been because of any single defender. Our wins and losses have typically been as a result of our midfield performance, either good or bad. We do not need more tall marking/intercept players....we need in-under ground level types. More like Brucey (Laird).

Just thinking about our possible best case scenario SHOULD we move on Cameron and Lever and take 10,16 + 18 into the draft (not trade for Gibbs)

Pick 10: Darcy Fogarty (SA)
Best position:
Utility
Height, weight: 192cm, 88kg
Recruited from: Glenelg
Projected draft range: top 10
Similar to: Jake Stringer
Rationale: SA Kid, was rated as an option for Pick #1 (12 months ago) little bit down this year and had injury to deal with, but a ridiculously exciting prospect that I think could play a HFF role with the crows almost immediately.

Pick 16: Hunter Clark (VIC)
Best position:
Inside midfielder/outside midfielder
Height, weight: 186cm, 79kg
Recruited from: Dandenong Stingrays
Projected draft range: First round
Similar to: Taylor Adams
Rationale: Alot of people rate this bloke REALLY Highly, will most likely get snapped up in the first 15, but if he is still available - we should look no further, can always use tall midfielders.

Pick 18: Oscar Allen (WA)
Best position:
Key Forward
Height, weight: 191cm, 83kg
Recruited from: West Perth
Projected draft range: first to second round
Similar to: Jack Gunston
Rationale: I think with this many picks inside the top 20, we NEED to add some quality Key position stock. Allen won the Larke medal and is ready to play a role in 2018. God I hope we land him.

If Fogarty is available at pick 10 and we don't choose him we are insane.
I have a feeling we're going to hear a lot of these comments over the next month

Just because he's South Australian doesn't mean he's immediately likely to leave. I'm betting we will go with the best available talent again

If Fogarty is available at pick 10 and we don't choose him we are insane.
But will he be ?? Touch and go by the sounds.

I think we need to draft forwards and mids, we're covered for defenders IMO

So pace and footskills, are those you mentioned above Bicks, the ones likely to be available ??

I reckon we are stocked for bigger mids, particularly if Poholke comes along further. 10 is a very solid pick to have

Maybe he means Lachie who I'd be very comfortable taking with our Pick 19 or even more comfortable with a 2nd round pick, lovely user of the football. :)
Not at 10, though :p

Lachie at 18 would be a great get, would fit in on a HFF very nicely for his first couple of years before pushing into the midfield
