Where do you see Berry getting drafted at this stage, Bicks?
That's a bit of an ask, on what he's produced so far as 15 and 16 year old he looks equally as good as brother Jarrod, not quite as tall I'd think around the 186 cm mark and more a pure midfielder, hard as a cat's head, looks quicker than Jarrod to my eye and is a sub 3.00 sec 20m speed wise, looks to have a good tank, really cracks and loves the contested stuff. I'd draft him now.

I did some research after Bicks showed the pic of the 2 bros at Second Valley. He should be a first rounder possibly late in the round though.

After backing the winner yesterday, i've formed the opinion that there are a bunch of potential mature aged guys worth a punt at the end of the draft or as rookies. Most of these guys would get picked up if the Oakland A's were drafting. Of course a few of them would probably get delisted by mid season too...

As stated earlier Murphy looks a likely one, Dom Barry looked alright in the limited Bays games I caught this year although I was predominantly watching for Edwards cameos, Wilson from Sturt looked good in the finals games (but then I was mostly laughing my arse off at Port losing), and if the Medya is any judge, there is a good chance that Tim Kelly from South Fremantle gets drafted this year. He's quick and runs through the midfield - could be a replacement for Charles but I suspect he goes to Fremantle given they have about 100 list spots open and have had him under their eyes all year.

One of the few guys who can put his hand up, and say he was into Wilson

Good call on Barry & Murphy too

Nice work :thumbsu:

Still amazes me how Jordan Johnston didn't get drafted in 2017, my money will be on him doing a Lachlan Murphy in 2018, so much raw talent and X factor.

Killing it for Carlton's VFL team the Northern Blues in the pre-season trials.

Agree with you Bicks but not his position taken. Crowden I'm sure will get drafted in the main draft. Sure he's small but that solid frame actually breaks tackles and he is as someone described a bull. Reminds me of a quicker Mitch Grieg not just because he's a left footer but because he has such a lovely accurate kick.
Tough unit who goes and gets it and we are in dire need of a few more of them. He is constantly playing well in the Sturt senior side already.
If we can pick up a SA kid of this quality later in the draft he's well worth pursuing, I'm a fan of his already.
Your boy Mitch Crowden suits up for Freo on Saturday against the Bombers.

Hypothetically, you lose Sloane and gain Band 1 compensation...

Would you entertain the idea of flipping your four top 20 picks for #1 and #2 and getting the local boys Rankine & Lukosius?

I'd do it for Lukosius and possibly Hately, not Rankine.

I'll say straight up I haven't seen enough of Hately.
Rankine I've seen many times. He not perfect and sometimes he looks like he's coasting and jogging. When he gets in the AFL I hope his coach can get him to play with a touch more desperation or intensity but when he's near the ball something always happens.
He's a goal kicker who makes his own opportunities. Very unselfish player who needs to take more responsibility when in range of the goals and just kick them.
Lovely mark,he has a strong pair of hands overhead and puts pressure on a back man in a contest to bring the ball to ground. Nowhere near as quick as a Charlie Cameron but as balanced. Rankine is a really good size,he's hard to knock off the ball and plays tall for a rover/half forward.

Small forward is a position which we may need to upgrade in the not too distant future as Betts isn't getting any younger and CC has gone.
That's not to say someone in the coming months steps up and takes their opportunity.

As for trading down to get him...he's very good, but it will depend on what the list managers feel we lack.
Three or four picks in the top 20 would certainly set us up for the future with such a deep draft.
