Hopefully someone slides to us. The top few players gone will be pretty predictable this year, but it only takes one club to reach or pull a surprise pick out of the hat to change everything. Saints could decide they want to reach for the top ruck prospect seeing they could improve that area and their next pick is pick 34. Hopefully someone slides to us, but then again I'm comfortable we will find someone solid at pick 9 regardless. We are in a good spot draft position wise

Anyone want to take a stab at who they think will be the teams that could throw in a surprise selection or make a reach before our pick 9?

Here's a fun question, which of these scenarios would you guys rather?

Brayshaw at 9 and Richards at 16, or Coffield at 9 and Bailey at 16?

Not seen a lot yet of this years crop. But one standout for me is Izac Rankine. Quick, great evasive skills, nice evasive step on him. Not seen him rated in lists. What's the knock in him?
Not sure there is a clear knock on him at this point, most say he's the best of a very good crop. Would probably go pick one if the draft was today.

Ineligible for 2017 draft.

He is a special prospect. I haven't seen anyone like him with his combination of genuine pace, evasive skills, ball-winning ability, elite hands, goal sense and strength despite his small frame. Rankine is insanely talented - more talented than anyone I have ever seen at U17 or U18 level. The only knock he would have is that his kicking can be inconsistent when on the run, but he brings so much to the table that it's basically inconsequential.

Watched a little bit of footage of blokes we may have access to at our picks.
Richards looks to me a very safe choice . Looks a 200 game AFL player.
But he does look only a half back ?
Has he any history of playing elsewhere ?

Is there any risk in picking Richards because of the Collingwood connection? What I mean is, we pick him and two years later he wants to go to Collingwood (with the standard media collusion to get him there).

Short answer from me , dunnow !
Interested what others think of my assessment ?

Also , I get Higgins looks a good young player , but not a fan the way he kicks the ball ?
Don't think he is for us.

Coefield I like , Brayshaw , Constable look ok , but they are a little beige ?

He played on the ball at Oakleigh in spurts and I was very impressed with him in there. He certainly has the skill set to be a midfielder IMO. He seems to be able to get his arms free often, has good vision and possess reasonably quick hands in tight. The only reason why he didn't spend long periods in there, is because his endurance is not good enough at this stage. He did have a knee injury during the year which may have had something to do with that.

I rate him very highly, higher then what most people it seems. I think there's a lot of upside there.
