Absolutely.
I was a huge fan of Vern Schillinger. Top bloke.

On the smaller side at 181cm, unproven in any defensive role, not an elite kick, low-ish disposal numbers are his flaws. The impact he has, however, as a bullocking inside mid means he's definitely worth taking at 16, in my opinion, and I would speculate that in an AFL environment, playing AFL-length games, he would be able to push his possession tallies up into the 25pg range with a few pre-seasons under his belt. What are the knocks on Bailey? From the highlights and what I've read it sounds like he's worth a crack at 9. Why is he rated so low other than average kicks. Consistency? Defensive game?
I guess everyone at this time of year sounds like a potential star though

Sadly notWondering if we might pick up Shea who played for Foostcray this year & looked decent as a small forward.
Have been a Crowden fan at the start of the season, originally had him compared to Dion Prestia. Didn't know how he tested at the combine though, those results are very good. Like that he's strong through the core too so he is hard to tackle.Oh I liked him already, I just haven't heard anyone mention his name very often.
I was teasing that was the player that Pann told you about.
Played a fair bit of SANFL seniors, didn't rack up huge numbers but I think at SANFL u18 level he did (last year maybe). Started this season in the seniors I'm pretty sure. Was my favourite short player this year pre champs but primarily handballed at the champs so don't think he stood out as much as he could have if he used his leg more. Was surprised he only got a state combine invite.Small but has elite athleticism.
2.92sec 20m - equal 1st at SA combine
81cm VJ - 1st at SA combine
91cm running VJ (right) 89cm (left) - 1st and 2nd at the SA combine
8.24sec agility test - 5th at the SA combine
21.3 YOYO - 4th overall at the SA combine
Has a bit of a cannon footskills wise when he decides to unleash, kicked a really good goal in the SANFL u18 GF using it and was probably second best on ground definitely best on for Sturt. Pretty sure he has played senior SANFL this year.
Could become something like Lachie Neale.
Constable can play more than just inside mid like what most vids on youtube show. He can play as a forward as he is a good finisher and is strong overhead, he can play the same role as Matthew Boyd did across half back in 2016 and he can play as an onballer.
Also he is taller than Macrae was as a junior (Macrae grew after he was drafted) and even if he is not as good on the outside as Macrae was he is better on the inside and is very good in heavy traffic.
Constable woild give us a few things.
1. Someone who can play Matty Boyd's half back role and be just as prolific winning the footy and using it well under pressure in this role.
2. Play as an inside midfielder and give us an extra bigger body with good skills. Dunkley and Jong are injury prone and Bont can't play midfield for an entire game.
3. Talking about when Bont goes forward it would be quite possible to play Constable as a marking forward when Bont goes into the midfield and then switching them around when he needs a rest. Constable has played very well as a forward as a junior. I feel that people forget he averages a goal a game at TAC level and is a good mark.
He is such a natural footballer so he can pretty much do anything on a footy field. Feel like he will be a forward to start off with us though as his marking and finishing skills is something we need badly. Then he will move more into the midfield as he bulks up.
Haven't seen enough of him to give a detailed summation, but if you're a 180cm primary inside midfielder that doesn't win a lot of ball even as a junior there are always going to be question marks on how well you're going to step up at AFL level.
Super highly-rated at the start of the year. Had a shocker of a season at all levels, really. Can someone talk to me about Fogarty? I’ve just been told we’re scouting him pretty hard.
From what I’ve been told, he has a Patty Cripps ceiling? Bit slow though. Is that a fair summation?
Well shit me sideways, sounds like a Stringer clone?!Super highly-rated at the start of the year. Had a shocker of a season at all levels, really.
He's massive, 192cm and 94.5kg, built like a brick shithouse. The issue is that, with his height, he's unable to play genuine key position roles, even though it's what he's suited to. He doesn't know how to win the ball en masse and, despite what Michael Ablett says, is not "100% the best kick in the draft". Not even close. His kicking is average. His acceleration is definitely a worry. He's also not a natural goalkicker at all, or a man defender. His vertical leap is pretty good but his marking isn't elite.
His year has been completely underwhelming. He had 4 U18 Champs games in which he didn't do much, and had been fairly uninspiring at SANFL level until injury curtailed his year. His poor production is a massive red light for any potential suitors, and although he has potential to play up forward, down back or in the midfield, he's shown no real, consistent proficiency in any of these areas. I would be thoroughly disappointed if we took him at 9 or 16.

I wasn't huge on Bont at the time either, but there's a key factor which is crucially important in adjudging a player's ability to step up to the next level, especially when they haven't had exceptional production throughout the year - improvement throughout the year. Bontempelli had it, Macrae had it, Clayton Oliver had it. They all went within the top 6 and have been of the most valuable picks in their draft because recruiting teams had been able to effectively punt on their development and growth which they showed in their draft year. Fogarty has none of that - he's shown less and less as the year's progressed, which is a really worrying possible sign that he does not have much more room for improvement in an AFL environment, particularly given his massive frame and lack of a best position.I understand people's concern.
But I remember dannn in particular writing up detailed explanations on why Bont is a poor choice.
Sometimes we look too much into players production at the under 18 level. There are sometimes good reasons for this, such as injury, expectation management, playing out of position etc etc
As long as the player shows sign of elite trait and has at some point showed consistency- 2016 for Figerty?
And really if Dal likes him thats enough for me!!

He will be taken by either Freo at 5.. or Coll at 6... but if he does slip through we would pounce for sure...Can someone talk to me about Fogarty? I’ve just been told we’re scouting him pretty hard.

I have a differing opinion completely.. but time will tell...Super highly-rated at the start of the year. Had a shocker of a season at all levels, really.

Those hands; those skills![]()

That might be why we’re interested.
Thanks for the info, Gollo.
That wouldn't make much sense for Freo to me, but it definitely increases the chances of a slider like Coffield or Cerra reaching us. If Collingwood also go tall then one of LDU, Dow, Cerra, Rayner, Stephenson, Brayshaw and Coffield is guaranteed to be there.SEN reporting Freo will pick Sam hayes. How does that affect who is available at 9?
