Problem is more the quality not quantity, JJ is good but the rest are just role players or unproven. Could definitely do with a top end half back especially given the loss of two AA calibre half backs to retirement.I don’t buy the notion that most people seem to lump us with going into this years draft. Oh, Boyd and Murphy retired, they need backs. Ummm, JJ, Biggs, Suckling, Williams, Crozier (reportedly set to play back), Lynch, Webb. I think we’re set for half back flankers. We need general forwards/small forwards and midfield class.
Spent most of the year learning how to play midfield and can't forget his endurance is elite so definitely has the capacity to be a full time midfielder. Not to mention his speed and agility are both elite too. Not getting my hopes up about him sliding to us.Stephenson brings plenty to our forward.
Strong hands, agile, quick turn of pace and he is unlike most other fwds in the AFL as can play tall and mid/small type roles deep inside 50 and higher up. He has also shown the potential mid he can be with late season midfield form.
A lot of oppo team recruiters would have to all drop there bundle for him to fall to us.
