I'm hoping for Fogarty & Fogarty with picks 9 and 16, mostly so we can all be outraged when BT refers to them as the Fogarty twins next year.
Fun fact
Lachlan is the bro of Michael Fogarty, premiership bulldog player

Still haven't bought into the Constable hype, not even sure he is a first round quality player. Think he will have a good career but not enough of an impact player to justify early selection for mine.

Getting the feeling it will be Stephenson, Coffield or Murphy at 9, depending on who St Kilda take. Bonar the smoky. Collingwood to take Naughton. Rayner, Brayshaw, LDU, Dow and Cerra to be the top 5 in whatever order.

You'd have to be happy if we got any one of those four at #9. I'll add Clark and D Fogarty to the MyHappy@9 list. They are all a decent chance to be, and at least one of those is bound to be, there. MyHappy@16 list: would include Balta, L Fogarty, O'Brien, Higgins, Garner. And Murphy or Bonar might possibly be available there as well (in which case that would trump the others).

And keep those #79 smokies suggestions coming, I am enjoying finding out about them.

Yeah I've got a healthy 'happy list' too. Stephenson, Coffield, Bonar, Murphy, the Fogartys, Constable, Richards, Bailey, Allen, Houlahan, Clark, plus some others that I wouldn't be too upset about. I'm pretty optimistic going into the draft knowing there are a lot of scenarios that I'd be pleased with. Trying not to get too attached to anyone in particular is my big thing at the moment.

I'll join you on Richards and Houlahan at 16. Would be very happy with those.

Agree with this, I was in a bit of shock earlier in the year when people were talking him up as a possible top 5 pick. Not enough of his attributes really shine to see him become an A grader IMO. Still will be a good player which I'd be ok with at pick 16, but I think there's others that would fit our needs better.

As much as I love how Allen plays, I would be surprised if we took him at either of our picks though.

Agree. I was thinking we probably would pick him before Schache, but now I really doubt it after we got Schache. I think we need to find better player's at ground level then Allen and forwards with more speed. Kinda wish we still had Crameri.

For what it's worth Sam Landsberger in his couple of draft articles today linked us with Aaron Naughton and Darcy Fogarty at 9 and Nathan Murphy and Lachie Fogarty at 16.

Naughton's name comes up a lot at our pick, dunno how I'd react if we got him. I like him but he's another tall defender and he's an iffy kick.

I might need my brown paper bag this year. Gollo definitely will if we pick up D Fogarty

Re: Fogarty, it is a possibility that the club doctors did assess his injury & believe it played a HUGE factor in his form through out the year.

By the reports that I have read, I am shocked his leg didn't come flying off when he went to kick the ball lol

I still have some concerns over him though & I definitely don't get the whole 'he'll replace Stringer' statements I have seen pop up.

I have some concerns too, but I am pretty excited about him at the same time. I'm not sure on him as a forward either, he did look quite good down back in one of his champs games though. I think if worse comes to worse, he will be fine off half back.

Heard we're into Darcy Parish's bro if he slides to our last pick or rookie draft, apparently he's a tallish mid. That's about all I know about him.

Yeah not a position we need but probably too good a player to pass up if he's still there.

Is there any dangerous small forwards in the draft? A Daniel Rioli or costagna type that has pace and can lock the footy inside 50? And can also hit the scoreboard? Surely that's what we need?

I can’t fathom the Naughton links. 2 articles this morning from different sources (Landsberger and Twomey) saying we’ll take him at 9 if available. I would have thought a key back is the very least of our requirements.

Also surprised we would be interested in another tall , but after looking at his highlights I can see why.
Looks to have the tools for AFL.
I know he has an awkward kick , but it's not terrible and looked reasonably effective.
I would not be against taking him . Still question marks over Adams's ability to stay on the park and Moz right at the end. Take a quick mid with our second and I would be happy.
Surely someone like Collingwood take him , they are crying out for key defenders.

Naughton would fit our best available philosophy for 1st rounders if there at 9. List fit wouldn't come into it. I found that wanews commentary abhorrent though - speaks to character - don't want.

Think Dunkley will surprise a few this year.

Torrid 2017 - he's a country mile better than that once fit and uninjured
Agree he was sensational in the final against hawthorn especially in the first half when the game was in the balance I think he had second year blues and will come good next year
