Am I slow to the Petrucelle train? Convince me. Seems a bit outside for my liking.
Watching vision of him I was straight away reminded of the first time I saw Taranto. Can just do things that others can't and can do them faster than anyone on the field can react. Can see him following a similar development curve and really take over games late season. He's lightning with his decision making in traffic. Just a swoops on the ball and disposes of it making other players around the ball look like they are stuck in mud. Can mark too.

You're convincing me. Where can I find some footage?

Is anyone here a really big fan of Cam Rayner?

Yeah but he will be long gone by our pick I reckon.
Right here.
Right, I just wanted to mention that I've heard he hasn't been playing up to his lofty standards so far in school footy. Not a major thing, but in the first half of his game last week he was, so I've been told, basically towelled by a year 10. Has been standing on the outside waiting for the ball to come to him, for the most part. Similar to Pat Naish most of last year in school footy. It seems that he brings the intensity for more important games but it's an interesting character trait for such a talented prospect.

It'd be interesting if that's him or something his Western Jets coach has instructed him to do, he is far & away their best player

They have a lot of 175cm midfielder & noone that really possesses his powering through a pack

I'm curious how fast he actually is because he doesn't look all that quick when I've seen him play

Not if we trade up, which is always possible
Think we may look at doing something with our picks & future picks

I think we might try and get a few extra points for Buku and Rhylee next year. I can't see anything that I trade up for right now, a situation like English's with Hayes falling to our first would be ideal but we could also have guys like CCJ, Petruccelle and North around our first pick as things are standing now.

But do we really NEED extra points, the points deficit might not mean all that much to us with West.
Not expecting we'd trade overs to get an early pick, but we'll see. I just rather we not get a high pick because a player has left, that'd be real disappointing.

We'll probably just get some future picks from any trades we make anyway. Do not want any deficit for potienially getting those two next year.

I don't see the point in trading up as things are now. It is not like there is a player who is a desperate need for us in the top few anyway.

It is better to get as many top 50 picks as feasible in my opinion.

With the rules around points deficits, there is no need to get future picks. Better off taking the points of the future picks IF you have to.
Only issue is if there are two guys picked in the first round.

Both Buku and Rhylee have made the initial VM squad as underage players. It is possible with growth in their games that they will get early bids next year.

I'm not talking about trading on a pick just to ensure we have an adequate amount of picks in this draft and enough in the next draft if we need to move up points wise for those two.

Perhaps you are right but we'll have to see who is gone EOS.
I don't think the points deficit would worry us too much though or most clubs for that matter. If we got a first round talent without a first round pick, we would be laughing & I'm not saying that we will make that move, I'm saying that I wouldn't rule it out.

Do we get discount for buku and the chance to match offer? Got asked a while back but hadn't seen definitive answer.

Article on Nick Coffield.

Liked this part:

But he has a good contact to call upon if he wants any help — a fellow passionate Western Bulldogs supporter, schoolmate and teammate at both Eltham and the Knights.

“I’m very good mates with Pat Lipinski,” Coffield said of the player the Bulldogs snapped up with the 28th draft pick last year.

“I speak to him a few times a week and he gives me a few tips. He’s a good guy, someone who’s in the system.”

I feel we need to find another genuinely good mid in this draft. Not an enormous need but our depth is not looking as good in that department as it was at the start of the year.

We are playing too many flankers and not enough true mids. Really need either an inside mid or a quick footed silky disposer. Both are needs IMO.

I think the opposite, we're not playing nearly enough true forwards, whereas we have guys like Dahlhaus, Libba, Bontempelli, Macrae, Wallis all running through the midfield as top-level mids.

Dunkley really should fit the bill for another pure inside mid, if we really need one. That is his best position by a country mile, we should be getting him in the guts far more than he already is.
