He will go between the 20-30 mark.

Not one for us though. He gets it a lot and can kick goals but he is not a damaging player by any means.

If we where looking at a half forward/small goal kicker that could play straight up with good skills we would be looking at Lachlan Forgarty. If we just want a small forward who could play straight up then Gryan Miers is the obvious choice.

From what another poster said about one of our scouts hanging around Gippsland way a fair bit it could be we are into Callum Porter with a bit of a later pick.
I'm hugely keen on Porter for a later pick. Production and work in the contest is just excellent.

Maybe they are thinking of going for tall forward like Hugh Dixon around our 2nd pick?

Certainly a type that could complement Boyd in the future. Given his work at ground level is like a mids at times.

1st - Traded for Jake Lever
2nd - Hugh Dixon (195cm KPF)
3rd - Matthew Day (189cm Mid/Half Forward)
4th - Callum Porter (181cm inside mid/small forward)

I recorded a Bulldogs list management podcast last night and Higgins was one that was mentioned by someone when I mentioned I would be expecting us to look to bolster our forward line this year.

Honeychurch and Hrovat were also dominant at that level and that didn't exactly pan out, Knightmare was saying how he simply isn't a damaging user with the ball. Extremely safe. In fact, I'd say Hrovat was a lot better of a player in his draft year.

Thats fair enough, I told the dude ahead of time that I have an idea of what we need but not a TAC watcher, so didn't have specific names in mind. Name dropped you and Wiz (off air) and your ability to look ahead and nail at least one of Dal's picks in the past few years though ;)

Yeah, if you compare the two players
There is just something off about the way Higgins plays, I'm just shocking at describing it.

Personally I just want Lever now, with our back six needing some star power. So we're probably losing some picks to achieve that & Dalrymple has been good at getting solid players at later picks.

Its interesting though, obviously dont want to get ahead of ourselves but with Young, Adams, Roberts etc, should we be focusing on the forward line which is a bit more urgent imo. Also wouldn't be surprised if we trade out of this draft, whether through Lever or other things as well. Next year will be busy for us with Rhylee, Khamis among likely prospects we'll be targeting.

Anyone who watches the WAFL here?

Want an opinion on Tim Kelly from South Freo.
WAFL player of the round in round 11, there is a nice youtube
video of his highlights which goes for around 1 minute 40 sec
also a Higgo's Highlights interview which he talks of his new
born son that he had in the off season. Nice player all
rounder inside and out good pace excellent right foot set
shot.

Prior to the draft can we hold a camp for all those we are interested in are put through a Full Metal Jacket style assessment where for 2 weeks they all have their mobile phones, computers, iPads and whatever else that gives them communication with the outside world taken off them, and have someone yell at them and call them names to weed out all the mummies boys so we end up with some tough players.

What's the general consensus on Balta?

Doubt he's in the draft frame where we'd be taking him. I'd say late-first round. I feel it's pretty unlikely that he will be able to step into a playing role at AFL level quickly, which is a bit of a red flag for us given we should be looking at players who can come in with impact right from their first or second year.

Is Matthew Ling going to be in the frame for our second rounder (pick 25-ish) or will he push into the first round? Someone with his pace and outside skills is too good to pass up, if we don't get Coffield. Looking at our current picks, I reckon a dream outcome would be to snag Ling with our second rounder and Miers with the traded third.

Regardless of where we finish now we will have a top 10 unless we trade it

Would not be surprised at all if we do trade it. I'm not banking on us getting Coffield for that reason, and if we can use it to get Lever or someone else worth it, it would fill a list hole anyway.

If only we knew targets instead of 5 weeks of speculation

Want to see how far up the board that Jackson Ross can get himself. He is a great size (192cm) and hits the scoreboard really well (2 bags of 5 in the TAC and I think he got a 6 in the APS) for a wing/half forward type.

Hows his speed? I think I read he has great endurance but haven't heard much else.
