Had a look at Constable's highlights. Personally I don't get the love for him as a top 10 pick. Looks like he will be a solid player, but don't see much upside. And I don't see clearance beast.

I'm the opposite. I'm actually really big on Constable, and he's one of my favourites for our pick at 8. I watched all of his highlights just now, I get why they don't show you him as a clearance beast, but that description comes a lot from his school footy and TAC Cup form this year as well. He's been simply killing it in school footy, him and Andrew Brayshaw racking up masses of the footy for Haileybury. I think he had 46 touches in the last or second-last round, and this wasn't an anomaly.

He is a genuine contested ball-winner on the inside with elite hands, comparable to Macrae, Bontempelli, as well as being a really solid contested mark. His kicking is above-average for an inside mid and he spreads to win the ball on his outside. His general athleticism is pretty impressive. His tackling is ferocious, although it could be a bit more manic (i.e. he could post higher tackle numbers in games). The key is that his production, at all levels, has been excellent and consistent, which suggests that his game will transfer to AFL level easily. The video which really excites me is the one below. I was at the ground that game and he impressed me more than anyone else that day.

Sure, he won't be able to walk straight into a midfield unit, but he is arguably as capable as a midfielder as he is a medium defender, where he started off his year playing. This proficiency will allow him to develop into an inside mid gradually while still maintaining a spot at AFL level, if all goes to plan, circa Callum Mills.

Looks like we're getting pick 9. ******* St Kilda pieces of shit. Bet they take Coffield at 8 too.

There's bound to be a few surprises considering how even this draft is however my guess as to how it'll fall at this stage is:

1. Brisbane: DOW
2. GC: LDU
3. Carlton: RAYNER
4. North: CERRA
5. Fremantle: BRANDER
6. Collingwood: FOGARTY
7. ST.Kilda: STEPHENSON
8. ST.Kilda: COFFIELD
9. Bulldogs: GARNER
10. West Coast: CLARK

I'd be hoping for Constable if this was the case, certainly leaves a few key position players in the second half of the first round to..

Definitely, I don't think Hayes or CCJ standout enough to be top 10 talents.

Naughton was close, wouldn't surprise me if he went top 10. I personally rate Balta very highly - someone could pick him earlier than expected on potential alone - I'd love him at the dogs and wouldn't be unhappy with him at #9 even though it would be a high risk/reward type pick. We know we aren't shy on pulling the trigger on those types of selections.

I just think we'll really like Garner. Has that versatility to play all over the ground, is tough and is a leader. Probably not the most exciting or daring selection but if Coffield is gone I think that's who we'll go.

WC would consider Constable fairly closely you'd think. There midfield needs a beef up, Clark is very classy though and just pips him in my top 10. For us, I don't think Constable gives us anything different to what I believe Dunkley will provide us in the future however I haven't watched much of him to be fair.

This will probably change a million times until draft day no doubt.

My guess going off what Anderson was saying about Naughton.

Saints could easily take the risk with Forgarty. Could be the best player in this draft once his knee is right.

fogarty probably the least of our needs, we won't touch same as Constable if we keep 7-8 we will look at Stephenson and coffield for needs

Brisbane have some great young midfield players in a midfield that is already VERY solid

And some incredibly promising young key position players, they'd want to get the rest of their team right before their core are no longer playing their best football

No talls with the two picks?

Stephenson worries me, because amongst his fellow draftees his build looks so small & he has very narrow shoulders

Definitely not Fogarty and I doubt we would touch Constable another inside mid, Stephenson does for me too, very boom or bust and has a Jarrad grant feel to me.

I don't count Fogarty as a tall

I meant someone like Hayes/CCJ

Definitely see Constable differently than what you do, I see him more as a half back that can get a hard ball but isn't a spanner with the ball in hand

Prediction:
There will be two players we're all really excited about that last past pick 6 and St. Kilda will take both of them.
I really don't rate any of their inside midfielders so if they take Coffield and another flanker I wouldn't be mad. B grade inside midfields don't win finals.

Don't think we would take a tall, need runners and composure and good ball use, plenty of half back options up our sleeves too. If we picked coffield it would be a view of him being a quick versatile midfielder, Constable isn't much of an athelete in that respect all due a good prospect not what we are looking for in terms of needs
