Happy with 9 and 16, will still land two good players even for a "weak" draft

What will our strategy be? Go for two best available mids? A mid and a forward? Mid and a defender?
Wizard has an inkling who we like and expected him to be available at 13. Wonder if he's confident the player would be there at 16.

Two bites at the cherry.
Risky and then safe? OR safe then Risky?

Depends if someone drops. To me there's a clear first 7. Only needs 1 or 2 clubs to surprise or draft for needs and not best available.
I think we will go best available regardless position with pick 9, especially if there is a slider. With Pick 16 being more focused on filling in positional needs

Chelsea.
Would love to take Coffield at #9 and Bonar/Higgins with #16. Then go for the best midfielder available with our first in 2018 + Rhylee West. Regardless of what happens, should be a good haul over the next 2 years.

Pick 9- Hopefully Coffield or Bradshaw slides to 9, if not I'd take Constable, can play inside or outside, finds the pill and is a pretty good user of the ball.
Pick 16- I would like Bonar if he lasts. We need bursts of speed at the contest and he has great pressure. Otherwise I like the look of Bailey and Petruccelle.

A chill wind rattles through my bones, opening my mouth, a wheeze emitted *Christian Howard*
He was an early pick not a rookie pick. I think there will be some good options in the rookie draft this year as most clubs are avoiding taking too many draft picks.

That’s my point. Will Dal look at the evenness of the draft crop, shrug, and go into full Leeeroy Jenkins mode? As good a year to do it as any, really. Nevertheless, I think, given our picks are both first rounders, he’ll simply play it sensible and go for the best available
