Maybe. I don't really see it with Stephenson. He has deficiencies which prevent him from performing strongly as a mid, or a genuine key forward (height). He's a true leadup forward, in my opinion, who isn't blessed with height or size, and this means that he's been tried in multiple different roles as a lanky 189cm key forward isn't quite with the times, as you say. He's not an accumulator, which (although I'm speculating) is mostly down to the fact that he hasn't played in the mid much, his defensive work leaves something to be desired, and he doesn't have a real standout trait which he's used to good effect consistently this year up the ground.
Isn't his standout attribute his leap and mark?
I haven't seen much of him but he doesn't seem too natural in the backline or midfield and so I'm thinking perhaps he slips down the draft order further than some may expect?

I think he could go in that 25-30 range

If he wants to move up the order he'll have to have more performances like his in the TAC GF last year

I'm not sure about his leap & marking but in that game I just mentioned his positioning was excellent

Yep, that's my gut feel. He's athletic, no doubt, but it's not as if his marking ability is a trait which will really set him apart at AFL level higher up the ground. Doesn't show that versatility to play in the midfield with confidence, and in today's game, at his size, that's a concern.

Ling been exceptional early, as has been Sydney Stack.

Allen with a goal up forward, keen to have a look at him given Wizard's views on him.

Really, really big on Sam Walsh for next year. So clean, can play half-back and midfield with equal aplomb.

LDU hasn't been up to his usual standard, going to the bench quite a bit, ball use a slightly shaky.

England hasn't shown a lot as a contested ball winner. He's an accumulator, no doubt, and has really clean ball use, but wins it an awful lot of the outside.

Hunter Clark, Worpel, LDU all been quiet, Parish hasn't impressed me much.

Hate to break it to the Tom McCartin fans: he's been atrocious. Just nowhere to be seen all game.

Miers with a couple of crucial misses from very gettable shots.

Stephenson been far more lively today, two goals and using his speed to great effect. Constable looks good, Petruccelle doesn't look to be using the ball as terribly as people seem to believe. Balta done some nice things, Moore been good again as with Rayner.

No doubt in my mind that Rayner is a far superior forward than he is a midfielder, same with Powell-Pepper and Venables. I don't think any team should be drafting him with the intention of playing him as a mid for at least 3-5 years.
