Athletic traits are strong points with Ross.

What are his downsides? He seems to have some really unique traits, surprised he hasn't pushed himself up further already.

Weight (built like a twig), quite outside.

But he is one of a few I could see getting picked up earlier than most have him.

Thoughts on Nicholas Coffield?

I think we're all very big on him. Has got size, excellent line-breaking speed, elite kicking, leadership qualities, the ability to play as a rebounding or intercept-marking defender and great production. Was compared to Bontempelli and Pendlebury earlier this year but hasn't yet shown the ability to win lots of contested ball. Not as much of an issue, just means he's less likely to transition into the midfield, will stay as a high defender most of his career.

Maybe. Wouldn't drop much further than 9-10 but I could see him being available, especially if a few others start to rise.

He's like Berry except he actually shows strong production at all levels. Whether Berry can actually post strong impact in games consistently is still up in the air.

Really like the look of him. Knightmares mock draft has him at 16 and Cal Twomey's mock draft has him at 11.
Currently we have the 8 pick, could we potentially trade down again with pick 8 and 26 and some steak knives?
Brisbane has the 14 & 18. They may want to use pick 26 and some later picks to use on their academy product Connor Ballenden.
Potentially we could pick up Nicholas Coffield with pick 14 and Oscar Allen or Noah Balta with pick 18.

Most overrated is going to Jack Higgins.

I'd be concerned trading down and expecting to get Coffield. Can see him going top 10, wouldn't want to bank on him sliding and missing out. If we are certain that he'll be there at 12-14, then we'd do well to move 8 and 26 for two later first-rounders. I would also be pretty keen to bid on Ballenden. Has now shown proficiency both up forward and in defence, and has shown a high ceiling of performance. It would at least force Brisbane to match relatively early.

So basically if he doesn't transition into the midfield he'll be a tall, quick rebounder who can use the ball well?
