Brilliant clearance from Day there.
Edit: for those wondering it was a parting of the Red Sea sort of clearance.
Saw that one. Went wow! Would love to see one of ours do that.
I haven't seen much this year but what are the elite speedster in the draft?
I watched half the first game and all of the second game. Charlie Thompson looks like an AFL footballer, and looks fierce with that haircut. First time seeing Ed Richards and wasn't looking out for him initially but has nice skills and a good turn of pace so he's a likely type for sure. Really nice goal.Watched the first game missed the second.
Who I liked:
Nick Coffield - All class and was Northern's best player. His ability to not get tackled inbetween 2-3 opposition is special.
Matthew Day - Much like Coffield he has the ability to just not get tackled. Had a few brilliant clearances including the one mentioned above. Moved forward late and looked dangerous.
Jack Roughsedge - overage player. Was absolutely huge in the midfield for Oakleigh extracting the ball at will and kicked a good snap goal early. Would consider as a late pick or rookie.
Charlie Thompson - Played mostly as a pressure forward and a little bit in the midfield. Looked dangerous whenever the ball was in his territory and continued to give effort after effort, this set up many goals for Oakleigh.
Hugh Longbottom - Very Young KPP (December 99) that was forced to play the ruck against a lot bigger opponents. Provided a good target around the ground and due to his efforts he narrowed Oakleigh's losses in the ruck. One of the best on the ground.
Ed Richards - Fast red head who absolutely killed the Knights on the outside at times. Very good skill and provides some really damaging run. Played a bit on the ball late and won a late clearance bursting out of the middle. Also kicked a running goal that was all class earlier in the game.
Toby Wooller - Was shaky in front of the sticks early but settled as the game wore on. Constantly made a target all day up and down the ground and could have had a bag if he kicked straighter earlier in the match.
Thompson reminds me a bit of 2016 Clay Smith.I watched half the first game and all of the second game. Charlie Thompson looks like an AFL footballer, and looks fierce with that haircut. I'm up to around his shoulders Haha. Was good to chat in person for a change though, rather than just calling him when I want to do an article.
Bit more polished by footThompson reminds me a bit of 2016 Clay Smith.
I agree, few moments of individual brilliance that created goals and can already kick the ball a long way. I often see players in the TAC cup that just look like AFL players already, he's one of them for sure. He's sort of built like Kennedy from Sydney but plays a different way.lol LDU is such a jet
LDU is putting on tbe backpackBit more polished by foot
