So 9, 26 & 39

9. Coffield. Brayshaw.
26. Bailey. Dixon. Richards.
39. Starcevich.

If we do get pick 11 somehow, makes things interesting.
39 would be too low to get Tim Kelly?

Doubt Richards lasts until pick 26. Miers at 26?

Also, what about Stoddart? I'd be happy for us to use pick 26 on him but he should last until 39. Really talented.

Yeah I like Stoddart
But later at 39.

Coffield
Bailey or Dixon and adding in Crozier & Trengove

Its not a bad start.

Imagine having Crozier, Impey, Trengove, Miers and Coffield and Dixon coming into our side next year. Would be pretty exciting!!

Yeah, if thats the case. We would need to trade something from next year most likely.

I am conflicted who I want more at our second, Bailey or Miers. We certainly could ones speed & ball use and the others pressure and goal awareness.

Anyone think Oscar Allen could be there around pick 26? (or 20 if we get Geelong's pick)

Considering his marking is one of his better traits and a big weakness of our team, plus similar in height to Stringer. Would he be a handy get for us or not someone we'd consider? Haven't seen him mentioned much in peoples preferences on here

If we trade in Impey would Miers be necessary?

Definitely a place for both of them in the side. Impey has valuable versatility, can play as a small, lockdown defender or rebounding defender if we don't want both of them in the forward line. Miers is also more of a natural goalkicker than Impey too, and our forward line needs as many players as we can get that can create scoring opportunities.

Going off his game GF day he will not be available at 20 could be taken at 11 if we manage to get it.

Go look over old posts, he's been one of the more mentioned players on here.

I saw your questions re Hugh Dixon. This will fill you in. I may be a biased ex Tasmanian but ........

Below are the links to the vision that a friend associated with the Kingston Football club (where Dixon plays), cut for their match reviews.

Note that it is not a roll of film put together to make HD look great, they are just the occassions when he has touched the ball - both good and bad. You see that from his sometime poor disposals, points and the repeated look at ruck contests against Glenorchy when he is up against short people (their ruckman was off injured).

I may be a biased Tasmanian, but think HD is just one of those players that has "it". He seems slow but he also seems to have time. He is naturally coordinated, takes a grab, picks it up cleanly off the deck, has good skills and has the ability to get the ball off to team mates in tackles.

He is very rarely out marked, and if he doesn't get it himself the ball goes to the advantage of his teammates. He led the u/18 National competition in regard to the % of total possessions that were contested. Yet his disposal efficiency was still high. The info was on Draft Central.

There are a few possessions, of a partiular type, that stuck out for me. One in the Glenorchy (black and white colours Rd20) game where he stands under the ball to take a mark in the first quarter' Eyes only for the ball and doesn't flinch. Another in the Hobart City game (Rd21 black and yellow colours) where he runs back with the flight of the ball in defence, doesn't look sideways, and knocks it through for a behind. Both show courage and why I am a big fan.

This summation of Dixon's recent performances from the TSL's team of the week run down, is how I see it also -http://tasmanianstateleague.com.au/2017/08/tsl-team-of-the-week-round-21/

It is not just about a few goals and big marks.

Thanks so much for that, really appreciate all the stuff you provided here. Think he looks very good and is sure to be drafted, curious to see what he tests well in post combine.

Yes, his combine results will be interesting. I am hoping he is the start of a revival of (local) AFL Footbal in Tasmanial. Not the forum to talk abut that though.

Should be at least him this year and there will be at least two next year so that's a start. Age groups below that are doing well at the moment too so the outlook for the future seems to be on the up a bit hopefully. Thanks for your info by the way, much appreciated.

I don't live in Tasmania full time anymore but try and watch as much under age football from there as I can. Jake Hinds (Launceston) and Thomas Mundy (Burnie) may be picked up this year. I also think Nat Franklin (Lauderdale) is an outside chance. Injuries saw him sit out a large majority of his draft year and he has performed well this year. Harrison Gunther a rough hope. I am with you as far as Tasmania's numbers in the draft over the next few years. Chance Jones, Tarryn Thomas, Lachlan Gadomski, Mansell, etc next year and some good ones the following year also.

I have little doubt that a quite draft year like 2016 makes it difficult for those that follow the year after. Tassie football needs more money but not the forum for that. Good luck. JG

That woule be a dream off season but Miers and Dixon both looked fantastic (miers is the small goal kicking forward we need, Dixon is the big body we lack with a soon departing String), both could go pick 26.
would either last to 39? Then what currency do we have for Impey.
Coffield at 9 looks the goods.
who would we prefer at potentially 11 if the Dons don't screw us around, ( yeah that was a stupid thing to say) when the dons screw us around

If Coffield lasts to 9 then I'd be quite happy. Charlie Constable of he lasts to 11 would be a good pick up, giving us a another big body in the middle. Aaron Naughton or Oscar Allen could give us a tall. Could see Zac Bailey bolt as a linebreaking inside midfielder in a Treloar mold.

Money would help yes but better results could also be yielded if the current pathway was better run. Hopeful that Jake can get a rookie spot this year, he was outstanding at the end of the season and in the finals in the TSL after returning from the national champs and is really hungry for it. Also it's Chayce by the way, he hates when people make that mistake haha :D

Anyway like you said we shouldn't clog up the thread with more Tassie talk so I'll leave it there

Constable's disposal looked pretty awful to me, not really interested in adding another ball butcher to the midfield.

I've come around to Brayshaw, I think Stephenson and Brayshaw is my preference should we go in with 9 and 11. Coffield and maybe Bailey plan B.

His disposal isn't that bad. I mentioned him because we only have 3 tall midfielders and 2 are injury prone. The heat that he would take off our other smaller mids would be quite large and he does play nearly every position on the ground which Bevo would like. If you are talking about the TAC GF he was playing with a groin injury, lucky to play that game at all really.

Could go with Brandon Starcevich later in the draft but his disposal is pretty bad.

Also have Brayshaw as one I like. Just depends on what Melbourne do with pick 10.

I think Constable is just about the best ball user of big inside mids in the whole pool, aside from Cerra. His long kicking skills are exceptional. Showed it in the Champs.

There's no way Stephenson lasts to pick 9. It will be daylight robbery if he slides out of top 5. I prefer Coffield anyway - both have elite speed but Coffield is the superior kick. Reckon it's 50/50 for Coffield to last to pick 9 at this stage, hoping for a Coffield/Brayshaw or Coffield/Constable pairing at 9 and 11, presuming Bailey doesn't rise above 26, where we would well be in the hunt for him.

Starcevich's disposal looked fine to me in the All-Stars game, and at least has really good leg speed as another trick to combine with his contested ball-winning.
