You need your head checked, no chance he's there at pick 9 even. Also you got any names for the NG kids?
Buku Khamis is the main one to look out for, touted as a top prospect for next year's draft

Apparently Fremantle are keen on Hayes - big, big win for us. If Hayes, Fogarty and Brander all go top 8 we will likely have either Cerra or Coffield available to us. Reckon Bonar could rise too, would give us a bit of insurance in case clubs cool on Brander or Fogarty.
That's assuming Dal rates Cerra/Coffield higher than others who might be available. I get the appeal but who knows what the master has in mind.

Bishop has several teams inside the top ten keen on Nathan Murphy. I've mentioned it a couple times, but given what I've seen and read about Murphy, and Dalrymple's historical picks, I wouldn't be surprised if we're one. Cue melts?

Would help us miss more kicks at goal that's for sure.

But being serious I'm not sure what the traits are that would have him go that high, can someone enlighten me?

Would much rather others honestly from what I've seen of him.

I mentioned him as a possible at our first pick last month, I do rate him. I would want to see him more in the midfield if I was to have a punt on him that high though.

Marking, Elite kicking, Agility, Smarts, One on one ability, Clean in the air and at ground level, Vision

On my limited vision. Genuinely versatile. Good size. Good athletically, quality disposal. Reads the game very well. Above average in the air. Extremely late birthday combined with an unorthodox pathway to AFL hints at further growth. The fact that he was a late season bolter supports this notion.

This one will be unpopular but he just looks like a footballer to me. In terms of traits, Bont didn't show off a lot of his frequently at junior level but he has always looked like a footballer - a quality I undersold at the time. Murphy looks clean with everything he does to me, and that's something big that often gets undersold.

I'm not necessarily advocating him but I think Dalrymple will be a huge fan.

Zac Bailey at our first?

I was thinking last night if we do take Impey & Crozier if that means we'll take a small at the draft.
One of Bailey & Coffield would be nice, dreaming big. Why not both.

Taking Dylan Landt late would make us really quick lol. Guy came third in the state 100m when he was 15.

Amartey and Owens top my list after the GF. Also outside chance they last but Walker and Reeves would both be great.

I know it's an unpopular opinion. But personally still want Balta with our first, especially if we get another first for Stringer.

Has all the tools to make it. If he puts it all together will be a gun.

Think someone will grab him earlier than most expect - TOP 15.

Being tall and athletic does not a footballer make.

Agree. Murphy seems like a good all-round footballer, but none of his traits seem elite to me. Low-ish production, non-outstanding athleticism... we can do better. Teams don't need to draft Murphy just because he was a good cricketer.

Err...respect your opinion on Murphy but strongly doubt this will be a factor in the minds of any recruiter in the country.

Wasn't really watching Landt in the Champs, can't recall any vision of him, but he sounds like a really good prospect. Lightning pace and, apparently, excellent kicking sounds exciting to me.

It wasn't an overly serious comment, obviously recruiters won't be swayed by reputation and cricketing prowess, but I do still think that if it weren't for him being a high level cricketer he wouldn't have received as much attention as he has over the course of the year. As in, well yeah, clubs aren't going to choose him because he was a Vic U19 cricketer, but they may not have focused on him quite as closely as they have done.
