Got this odd feeling we will take Sam Hayes at pick 16
Doubt he would last, don't want him anyway. Doesn't have high enough hitout numbers and poor endurance are big warning signs for ruckmen without the skills or mobility of someone like English.

Crossley is my favourite young ruck in this draft, love his follow up work, aggression and how he taps it to dangerous areas.

Will probably be a bit of a bargain for Gold Coast.

He will be stuck behind Witts for a while but will be a great backup, they just moved on Currie and have cleared out every ruck on their list apart from Witts and Nicholls.

Surely we pick the two best outside smalls available in the draft we are crying out for pacey smalls. On a side note I was waiting for lift at work and who should be there Peter Gordon and we had a chat. I asked him how we would go next season and he said he was confident we would bounce (what you would expect from the Pres) was pissed about Good Friday which has since come out in the papers.

I also said to you think we have to many talls, his reply was quote we certainly have enough of them and we not need any more in the draft.

I'm determined to have some idea what pick 82 and our rookie draft pick might be. So I've compiled a list of names that probably nobody's heard of. I've never seen any of them play (apart from Joel Naylor) and I'm pretty sure nobody has talked about them on here. Usually that's how it works with Dalrymple, so I reckon I'm in with a pretty good shot at nailing one these.

I've researched them and wrote down a few points on each player in the spoiler tags if you wanted to have a look.

Lachie Schultz plays for Williamstown and is quite good, Francis
Kinthari plays for St Mary's and the NT Thunder and is a
smaller version of Adam Sambono kicked the winner after the
siren against GWS and 3.3 on debut (Rookie at best).

What do you mean by not moving well for his height?

He has a really good leap which makes up a bit for his reach & he is rarely knocked away from a mark by someone bodying him.

Surprised you didn't bring up his inaccuracy in front of goal, because his kicking seems fine in general play.

I pointed out for a while that his ground level stuff needs some work but I've seen him play other games and he was just fine.
Chris Grant was a beautiful field kick but iffy in front of goal. He laced out foot passes.

Yeah Kinthari probably won't get drafted at all. Comes from a remote background, there's always question marks on those types. Clubs want to see them move to the big smoke to see how well they adapt beforehand if it's possible.
There's a question mark on Sambono for this reason as well, but I think he'll still get taken probably as a rookie.

Quite a few of those names I've got there probably won't get taken to be honest. A lot of those are Hail Mary's, but that's how Dalrymple usually rolls .

Personally I'm hoping for Oskar Baker at 82, but I think that's very wishful thinking. He has that aggressive run & carry style that I think a lot of clubs will love.

Yeah I think he could go as high as the 2nd round, good player.
Hmm, havent seen much but liked what i saw. Do you think he might look a little like icing sugar in that league? Question I've thought about.

Oskar Baker is a rookie at Aspley, has got some talent along with the
21 year old captain of Redland Nathan Bertoli-Simmonds and Jordan
Keras the Southport inside mid formerly with Footscray in 2015 and
the brother in law of Patrick Dangerfield. Add those three to Adam
Sambono and there the best four prospects from the NEAFL. Both
Baker and Bertoli-Simmonds were in the Lions academy at one time.

Nice work on Oskar Baker, GC. He's a player Yojimbo and i have briefly discussed.

Baker looks great surprising Brisbane let him go even with there sub standard list. One I’m really big on for pick 82 is Nick Hind from Essendons VFL team. 23 Year’s old really slim build only in their team this year. Ran a 2.92 at the Victorian rookie combine and tested really well with agility. Half bank flanker who breaks lines and uses ball pretty well.

Plus he’s a Ballarat boy which is kind of cool :)

Might not be there at 82 though!

Nick Hind is very good, i would take him ahead of Alex Boyse if
i were Essendon.

I've only seen a game from footage and highlights this year so I'm not entirely sure. He might be, the main question mark from what I can gather is still on his endurance apparently. Made some improvements this year, but apparently he still only tested below average in endurance. I've really liked the improvement he's made his contested game since u18's though and I think it will stand up quite ok in the AFL.

Just watched Ed Richards TAC round 17. He's good, looks confident, nice long kick, creative and not afraid to take the tacklers on. Definitely would consider him at pick 9, he could be as good as a number of the others touted to go before our pick.

Looked ok in the final against the dogs, I wouldn't be against it.
