Dunkley mid sized forward... please no.

Please just develop into a contested bull in the middle. Don’t want to see Libba, Wallis or Dubkley rotating too much forward. Prefer Bont, McLean and Hunter to rotate forward as they actually have forward craft

This board looks as skeptical as our board. I can however, see you guys picking up cerra or Clark at 9 which I think you'd be happy with. Collingwood will grab Naughton. Can't see why you'd grab a KPP as you filled those needs in the trade period

There's actually not much scepticism at all here if you are referring to concern that our recruiters will stuff it up. There is a remarkable degree of confidence in Dalrymple on here, especially when compared to other clubs supporters. "In Dalrymple we trust..." is a term frequently used on this board.

Apologies Dannnnnnnn, I assumed highlights is what you meant.

He does look a player though doesn't he ?
Also suits Dals preferred late bloomer type with his late season form and development spike.
Do we know if he has an invite to the draft ?
All good!

Yeah I'm a huge fan. The production side of things is undoubtedly a bit down compared to some other prospects (although I would argue that having a cricket pre-season and being almost a year younger than his peers largely accounts for this) but no other prospect has close to the same mix of attributes that he does. The mid-sized utility that can read the game, run all day, use the ball cleanly, mark overhead, stand his own in a contest and compete at ground level is a rare breed. I think he's a hugely exciting prospect.

Yep, has an invite to the draft - linked to Collingwood (6) and potentially the Dogs (9/16?) inside the top ten, as well as Sydney (14) and Brisbane (15/18?) from what I've seen.

How does he compare to Todd Marshall?

How does he compare to Todd Marshall?
Completely different players. Like, all due respect, there are very few similarities haha. Marshall's a raw 198cm forward/ruck with real point of difference athleticism, while Murphy's a 188cm utility who dominates in the air and in one-on-one contests and delivers the ball cleanly. Marshall is more your "mark and goal" type while Murphy provides both a target and somebody who will spend some minutes a bit higher up the ground.

I like Murphy more, but they're very difficult to compare. I don't know enough about their respective years as a whole to compare their production.

I would be totally fine with that. Obviously, if we passed on a Coffield or Stephenson for him, it would be a little disappointing, but I would be as comfortable with us taking him at 9 as I would us taking Bonar or Murphy. So much all-round talent and his workrate and athletic capabilities are really, really good.

Not really the player I'd be comfortable taking at pick 9. With his height and size, there's always some concerns on how well those types transition into the midfield. He's not really a natural forward either, doesn't really have the X-factor around goals. That said, I think he'll make it and become a very good pressure forward at least. But I question how the rest of his game will transfer to AFL level and how much impact he could have.

Denham has us selecting Clark.

If we select Clark it's because Dalrymple knows more than the rest of us. From my limited knowledge I'd expect Clark to go a bit later but if Dal thinks he's best available I'll be intrigued to see what he can offer. FWIW I don't think any "draft experts" have a clue what's gonna happen outside of the top 5.

I trust Dalrymple to pick a good player. I think Clark will be a good player. I don't think we can carry another bad kick/decision maker, however.

Wouldn’t be overly impressed if we went Naughton and Higgins. Doesn’t really fill any needs. Need outside run. If we went Naughton you can kiss Roberts and Collins goodbye after 2018.

I'd be very unhappy with that. Naughton hasn't impressed me much at all as a one-on-one defender and adds very little to our team that we don't already have. Higgins is a fairly one-dimensional goalkicker/ball-winner. Passing on Bonar, Murphy, Coffield, Stephenson, Richards or Lachie Fogarty for either of those guys would be very disappointing.
