2017 Draft rumours

So we could be the same as last year where the club with pick 1 is deciding between two players (Rayner and Brayshaw) and the club with pick 2 wont select the player not chosen and will go with somebody else (LDU).
Every chance this can happen. If Brayshaw goes 1 then I think Raynor goes 3.
And the team with the 3rd pick gets highest rated kid in the draft again.

Bulldogs have spoken to Dom Barry, presumably with the consideration of taking him with pick 79.

Can't say I remember how he plays but his coach at Glenelg reckons his endurance and speed is AFL standard

Well worth a punt with #79, sounds like he has got his head screwed back on

Indications seem to be pointing toward Pick 9 being A.Naughton..

Not sure Im keen but hard to get upset when ypu once thought Aish was a better pick than Bont...

Must say I was hoping for D.Fogarty, A.Bonar..even J.Brander before A.Naughton..

Hawthorn and Collingwood both also apparently into Barry and both have several late picks before the Dogs so might be more likely to end up at one of them.

Coffield - Doggies fan, good mates with Lippy, captain of NK (meets character test) and if he fails to transition into the midfield we get a backline rebounder who is tall enough to chop out in the zone. Quick too.

I think we’re quite keen on him also. But a bolter or two into the first six picks could shuffle things back. Three days out and still no real certainty about anything

Yep, lots of mail that we'll take Coffield, including that he's been told we'll pick him if he's still there.

Could end up however it wants, Carlton traded out pick 16 for Kennedy and a future second ('super draft')

So the deal to Carlton is essentially pick 10 + Kennedy + future second (Bulldogs) for Gibbs and future third
The trade was Picks 16 and 40 for Dogs’ Picks 28, 30 and their future second rounder. Carlton then used 28 for Kennedy.

McCluggage &a Berry are two best mates who were extremely stoked to be picked up together.

For a club like Brisbane I have no doubt things like this are taken into account, especially when it concerns our high draft picks.

They've also both mentioned how good a time they're both having up here/how good it is to come up with ya best friend.

Other players also take note of how they're attached at the hip (even share underpants apparently). Berry ha signed on and I think the majority fully expect McCluggage to extend soon too.
Carlton did it once with Bryce Gibbs and Mark Austin way back when. Austin did not make it, was rookies by a Dogs after and then delisted.

So at this stage the Gibbs deal looks even better..

Pick 10 + upgrade 2017 pick 40 to pick 30 + Bulldogs future second rounder + Kennedy

for

Gibbs + future third

I have mail peoples...
Very relaible source...

D.Fogarty or N.Coffield at Pick 9 if they are still available..

Coffield also be high on Saints wish list so he may be unlikely..

Must say I was suprised at Coffield be so highly sought after..

J.Higgins is off our agenda..even at 16.

Naughton or Brander a chance at 9 if DFog & NCof are gone..

He's extremely well suited to the way footy is played these days, even if he only ever ends up playing down back.

Everyone's favourite analyst Kingy even wrote an article on the draft on the weekend (mainly focusing on what "types" clubs should generally be targeting) and said that clubs should be lining up to draft someone like Coffield (and also named Richards).

Plus there's the added bonus of him reputedly having terrific leadership qualities.
