Have never really understood this - once a kid is at a club for a few months and ingrained within the playing group and culture, who they supported/wanted to play for pre-draft would become an afterthought.

I agree with this, Especially in your home state. Not many leave to go play for the club they supported solely for that reason.

Have heard today that there is another club more interested in Ryan than Port, West Coast or the Saints.

There was an article on Ryan a couple of weeks ago which mentioned that Melbourne are quite interested him. From a needs perspective it would make sense, we should be going after a small forward in the draft.

Blues are huge on Adam Cerra, interviewing him several times already. They rate him higher than Dow and will select him if their #1 Rayner is gone.

Agree, either of these two young guns would be a great acquisition for CFC.
I lean towards Rayner for his offensive value and Xfactor , as he develops will be a very handy part time midfielder too.

I would also prefer Rayner but only slightly. If we get either then we can't lose.

Ryan may be small be he is not a 'small forward'. Hardy crumbed a goal in his life. Hard to when you're jumping (admittedly impressively high) for every ball or be front and square when you're coming straight up the ground at it.

i dont agree with this, watched pretty much everyone of his home games over the last 2 seasons and a lot of his away games

you are right that he tends to mark and goal more than he "crumbs" but he also creates a shit load more goal for team mates, than he gets himself be it by crumb or not

I would say the signing of Thomas today by Port is a fair indication that they are no longer interested.

If Cerra isn’t selected by North then lock him in for pick 5. Freo keen on Cerra.
I’m in the minority but feel two midfielders will be our go. One of Rayner/LDU/Dow at 2. I wouldn’t rule out Brayshaw at 5 if Cerra is gone. Stephenson and Fogerty also options.

I think you guys will take Fogarty at 2 and Naughton at 5...........just a hunch!!!

Really worried that due to flight risk Freo and Brisbane are going to take the Vic Country boys in LDU and Dow, leaving us stuck with Rayner.

I know I shouldn't say 'stuck' as I'm sure he'll be a fine player, but we desperately need one of those top 2 midfielders rather than a forward/midfielder.

Well that`s ok because Carlton like Cerra as well........actually I feel the same way about Rayner and I think he is a bit of an individual......but hindsight will reveal all in the end...........
