2017 Draft rumours

Other end of the draft, but have heard (ie read on here) that Port are (or were) keen on Jackson Ross as draft age talent, and Liam Ryan and Bailey Banfield as mature agers.

you guys are very keen on Jackson Ross, have interviewed him a few times, hes a good kid and very good athlete, quite an untapped talent too as he spent a lot of his teens playing tennis at quite an elite level, so heaps of scope for development

We are continually linked to Oscar Allen at pick 13 but I think there's a reasonable chance we are playing funny buggers and will pull a pick from left field like last year.

Not the best work ethic Ryan. But if he is going to succeed getting out if Perth would be a big help.
Have heard this as well. With our draft and trade strategy loading up for a flag tilt - I am happy to be taking a punt on big talent this year. Low risk, high reward.

He seems to fit the Hinkley mould pretty well. Will he still be around at 46? Hope so.

If Cerra isn’t selected by North then lock him in for pick 5. Freo keen on Cerra.
I’m in the minority but feel two midfielders will be our go. One of Rayner/LDU/Dow at 2. I wouldn’t rule out Brayshaw at 5 if Cerra is gone. Stephenson and Fogerty also options.

Got a feeling Freo will take Cerra at 2 , Lions Dow at pick1 and we'll take Rayner ar pick 3.

Freo will be bonkers to not take Rayner if he's there at 2. Could happen but somehow I feel Rayner will go top 2.

Summarising from BF and other forums, we're interested in kids who would likely be available at pick 13 for our pick 9 (hence we approached WCE about downgrading our pick) which means Nath Murphy and Constable are safe bets as "bolters" on draft night. Another mentioned we've spoken to Oscar Allen quite a bit.
Someone on our board said we're not keen on O'Brien even though on paper he suits our needs.

Really worried that due to flight risk Freo and Brisbane are going to take the Vic Country boys in LDU and Dow, leaving us stuck with Rayner.

I know I shouldn't say 'stuck' as I'm sure he'll be a fine player, but we desperately need one of those top 2 midfielders rather than a forward/midfielder.

Don't think you'd be the only takers for low risk, high reward players :) Assume you meant high risk, high reward?

With a first pick at 46, the reward of getting an insanely talented forward to complement an already talented forward line is much higher than the risk of passing on a diamond in the rough - especially in this draft.

Well there's always Cerra and a nice Italian name too, about time the Baggers draft one.
Adam is a top notch midfielder and is probably the best choice for us.

SOS will be laughing as he calls out Rayner's number. Players like him don't come around every draft whereas there's always a Cerra or LDU around.

I'll be surprised if he gets past Freo, and I'll be even more surprised if SOS passes on him if he's there. We will still get a nice mid at 10.

In saying that I'd be more than happy with Dow/LDU/Cerra. Top 5 can't really lose this year.

Have heard today that there is another club more interested in Ryan than Port, West Coast or the Saints.
